    Pros

Northwestern Mutual provides some of the world's best training to new reps. The office environment is comfortable and very easy to work in, and flexibility is a great perk.

    Cons

The life of a Financial Rep is not an easy one. There is no base salary so getting started is very difficult. As a rep, I have to call on potential clients everyday and this can be a daunting and difficult task.

I have been working at Northwestern Mutual as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The team at NM is incredibly helpful. You are given high levels of support and almost free reign (provided you prove yourself intelligent and trustworthy) to structure your business as you please. Expectations are high and achieving goals are adequately rewarded.

    Cons

The learning curve is by far one of the most difficult you will ever encounter. You need to be good at critical thinking in order to succeed and really take advantage of all the opportunity here.
