    Pros

Good Salary, good bonus, but learned a lot about how to not lead a team.

    Cons

Very flat organization, political quagmire which forstered infighting, back-stabbing work environment. Unrealistic expectations, ambulances arrived frequently to pick up employees sufferering from range of anxiety and cardio issues.

    Advice to Management

Restructure and remove Ill-equipped Sr. Leadership who lack genuine concern for employees.

    Pros

Compensation...they pay well but you earn every penny and then some.

    Cons

You are just a number....and the infrastructure stinks. For a big company, the process and systems is the worst I have ever seen.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your people....they are the company.

    Pros

Well, I made some money on the stock options.

    Cons

Played fast and loose with US labor laws. There's a reason they got slammed in court, and dropped from the Working Mother list.

    Advice to Management

Lose the Euro-centric policies. The US is your biggest profit center. Make sure your US employees are treated accordingly. Stop requiring US-based employees to be in Switzerland on Thanksgiving. It's also obnoxious to sneer when US-based employees want to go home at a reasonable time......when they've been on conference calls all over the world since 5 AM. If McKinsey's going to run the place, just call it what it is, OK?

    Pros

When it was Sandoz, it was a fun place to work. The current culture really is toxic. One thing you can count on is that you will see many layoffs. However, certain people are untouchable. There used to be a pension, etc.

    Cons

Work life balance was non existent. There are many cons to Novartis. The Performance Evaluation process changes like the wind. If you are really good at creative writing, you will do well with the year end and mid year review.

    Advice to Management

In the last 4 years, you cut 4,000 sales people, with more cuts coming. You implemented a new "culture" 2 years ago that included white leather couches at the first management meeting. You hired a new division for a new psoriasis product and hired almost all from outside the company. A few people were hired from inside and were told it was a "Lateral move" with no raise, yet at the same time hire people from outside for much more money. Yet, upper management collects gross amounts of pay while cutting people and ruining lives. Sit back, take a look at what you created. You should be ashamed.

    Pros

used to be benefits, but not any longer

    Cons

micro management, lack of SOPs and process guidance. No integrity in the drug development process. Individual departments work like a CRO, trying to please their customers while violating SOPs, FDA guidelines and ICH.

    Advice to Management

make a decision are you a pharma company or a health care company..
