Great place to get the life force sucked out of you

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGood package & perks, great for ladder climbers

ConsCorporate culture is toxic. No vision past profit-taking, lots of right-now projects without resources. Accountability is not addressed within the ranks of management. Infrastructure in shambles.

Advice to Senior ManagementNo sense in giving advice to management. They aren't listening.

Great products that aren't getting to market

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsNew facilities and exciting new processes. Experience in a company that is working through the hurdles of getting a manufacturing site up and running. International company with some opportunities to travel given the right position/circumstances.

ConsManagement is indecisive about what products to take to market. Some lack of accountability. Hiring young associates with inexperience has lead to issues with turnover and process setbacks. Mistakes made during the design and building of the plant have caused setbacks.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire more experienced workforce or have a much better mentoring program to help inexperienced professionals.

Good stepping stone to another Job

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Holly Springs, NC

ProsHighly motivated, educated workforce, and young. Good investment in employees, proffessional development is highly valued. Coworkers are fun. Interesting technology. Looks good on a resume and will help you get a better job.

ConsPoor corporate culture: competitive between departments, projects. Hard to get resources to do what is needed. Crazy workweeks are the norm not the exception, lots of overtime. No work-Life balance

Advice to Senior ManagementStop recruiting only type A people. Manage employees expectations, don't promise them opportunity for advancement if it is not really there. Have reasonable project timelines.

Beautiful facilities, great people to work with, good company, ineffective management style and HR policy

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Holly Springs, NC

    ProsCompetitive benefits
Opportunities to travel and career advancement
    Clear Vision and Mission

    ConsConfusing policies across divisions
    Unable to retain talents
    Lack of core technical resources
    Weak leadership and people skills

Advice to Senior ManagementRegarding retaining talents:
Embrace diversity through daily interpersonal skills and not just initiatives.
Provide appropriate training and ensure competency prior to allowing people to assume full responsibilities of new roles without on-going training or coaching.
Hold managers with direct reports accountable for their team performance as much, if not more, as holding a project manager accountable to his/her project.
Encourage accountability via coaching rather than performance evaluation alone which promotes a blame game and distrust working environment.

Been here 1.5 months and I'm SO disappointed!

    Business Administration (Current Employee)
    Emeryville, CA

    ProsPay is competitive
    Easy to get to
    Benefits are pretty good

ConsI can't believe how disorganized things are. They upgraded their e-mail and calendar system right after I started and a month later most of the features still aren't working. You can't book a conference room thru the calendar system (you have to put a post-it note on the conference room door...really????), most calendars aren't viewable so you have to call everyone in order to get their availability, IT can't answer any of your questions, etc.
I am a hard worker and believe in getting the job done but there are certain resources I need in order to do it. I feel like I am merely treading water..not getting anywhere.

Advice to Senior ManagementA lot more effort needs to be put into streamlining many of your business practices. Most processes here are so drawn out that it can take you half a day to perform simple tasks. Most of the the time it is because the resources aren't available or the process isn't written down anywhere

    Tolerance for mediocracy in management

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Cambridge, MA

ProsA lot of interesting and promising projects going on, and it makes you feel like the company can actually compete with some of the bigger pharmaceutical and biologics companies.

ConsA lot of instability and constant change causing distraction and distrust. It's a magnet for mediocre managers transferred from Pharma or failed managers from other companies still looking to prove themselves, whether they're qualified or not.

    Advice to Senior ManagementNone
