I have been working at O'Reilly Auto Parts full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great hours and decent pay

    Cons

Management sucks they sit in there office with AC pumping playing on there cell phones all day. It seems like every month the company is getting sued for something. If it wasn't for the great hours this place would go under.

    Advice to Management

Quit being lazy and actually do something!!

I worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Offers a good rate of pay with above industry standards on frequency of raises. Good employees to work with. Locations all over the United States

    Cons

Once you are at top of scale it is very difficult to get a bonus. semi yearly reviews are always highly criticized. If you are looking to move up into supervisor or management they will find every single way to prevent that from happening if you are not willing to be a puppet....

    Advice to Management

I can only speak for the location that I was at in Moreno Valley, Ca. Upper management needs to stop micro managing all of their supervisors and allow them to create an environment conducive to a positive work environment for the non salary employees.

I worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Liked most of my coworkers - Great discount - Managers were flexible with my personal life and scheduling - Job duties are relatively easy

    Cons

    - Terrible pay (started at minimum even though I was told I would start higher) - Raises are a joke (my first annual was $0.28) - High turnover rate - Limited upward mobility

    Advice to Management

Get off your high horses and treat your employees with the same amount of respect you expect to be given.

    Pros

The employee discount is really good.

    Cons

The make you work 60 hours a week. Everybody gets minimum wage except you and your commercial manager. Its run like a Walmart, they like to keep only part time people so they don't have to give them benefits.

    Advice to Management

Good people are hard to find, pay them what they are worth.

I worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    there was overtime available often.

    Cons

I had more seniority and more experience working in the hub than most everyone in my dept., but they passed me up - twice - to give the promotion to a white guy after I informed them that I wanted the position & they knew that I could do the job well, but they never said anything to me, they just gave him the job. I was never considered for the job. Also, I worked there 2 years before I got a 25 cents raise. In the end, they wanted to fire me so a district mgr. told a lie on me and I got fired over a lie! That's the GODS HONEST TRUTH!

    Advice to Management

They truly are RACISTS, and I am not one to pull the race card often - but sometimes you just have to call it what it is.

I worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I love cars, loved the customers. Different every day, never boring. Over all a good company to work for, good benefits.

    Cons

Retaining good team members was extremely hard to do when they can go just about anywhere and get paid more money!

    Advice to Management

Pay scale should match job qualifications! I managed an O'Reillys store for 10+ years (had 30+ years in auto parts store management experience)....yet I had friends that worked as CASHIERS in a grocery store chain that made more money than I did. Pretty much everyone I knew made more money working non-management jobs. Most of the time I put in 65-75 hours a week (only got paid for 45 of those) because TMs would quit to go to a better paying job. High turnover due to low pay, period. That's why I finally left the company. Note to corporate O'Reillys management: adjust your pay scale if you want to keep quality people, because your company is suffering the effects....a lot of your stores now are as bad as a fast food place. O'Reillys wasn't always like that! Bring back what Chub founded, quit trying so hard to be exactly like AutoZone!! (But yes, their employees earn more, and NO, I would never work for them)

I worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits. On the job training. Good job for younger generation (high school and starter college kids). Easy to move up ladder if a hard worker.

    Cons

DMs don't back up SMs and ASMs, I've seen a couple get thrown under buses. Want to give more work and responsibilities without compensation.

    Advice to Management

your DMs should learn how to back up their SMs and ASMs at the stores.
