    I have been working at Octapharma Plasma full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    There are some really good employees here as co-workers. The current management is great and tries their hardest to work with you. They really are looking to advance you up in the company. Flexible hours.

    Cons

    Revolving management, along with "cliques" in the work place and employees utilizing their call off exceptions to miss work. The flexible scheduling can be a con because your schedule isn't consistent and changes every week. Starting pay is crappy as well as raises when cross training in different areas

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Talk more with employees about issues that arise within the work area, which would help with training, personal growth and potentially help with promoting.

    I have been working at Octapharma Plasma full-time

    Pros

    Moved up reasonably fast to a point. Learned a few new skills. The work is pretty easy more like a factory. New people constantly, both employees and donors.

    Cons

    Supervisors are the worst about spreading gossip and usually do the least amount of work. The center director plays favorites based on who he hired vs. who actually works hard and shows up. Starting pay is $8.00/hr. There are no set schedules. Promotions and raises are not really work based more popularity based.

    If you are going to make special considerations for one person you should do it for everyone.

    Micro managing, poor pay, disrespectful managers, rude and disrespectful donors, unapproachable leadership, DRAMA!!!

    Octapharma Plasma is a good learning place. If you want experience in phlebotomy, this is the place for you.

    Pros

    Very fast promotions! I started as a donor less than two years ago now I am assistant manager making good money and opportunities are still developing. I love working for OPI!

    Cons

    The operating hours make scheduling fair difficult. The starting pay is $8.00/hr which is on the low side for the type of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Always train/retrain employees so that bad habits don't develop. Reward job well done. And I don't like the new rule on only hiring those with a college degree into management positions new employees with a degree are not better than the employ whose worked for the company for years. They do not understand the company as well. That might just be this area though.

    Pros

    Hour lunch to get away from the nonsense, the schedule. Nothing else.

    Cons

    Omg where do I start. Gossip, gossip and more gossip, constant horse-playing and inappropriate conversations in front of donors, catty women, drama, the way they treat the donors smh ..... not cool at all. The pay is no where near enough for the amount of bs you have to deal with on a day to day basis. Very hostile environment at times. Other times is tooooo laid back. Lack of structure. Obvious favoritism. Training is pretty rushed. I can go on forever.

    I can't think of any.

    Cons

    Scheduling is a joke! No consideration to employees needs. No respect to employees. Hourly pay is ridiculous! There are too many chiefs and none of them know what the others are doing. No one is on the same page. You can ask two of them the same question and they will give you two different answers. Employees are not being trained correctly. They are all taught something different.

    Be considerate of your employees needs. You have a lot of unhappy employees and some of them are looking for others jobs. If you want to keep them, show them respect.
    Find someone who knows how to make a schedule that works!!

    The experience for a better job.
    Learning to treat reactions, performing high volumes of blood draws and vital signs
    Donors are usually plesant

    Cons

    Where to begin?
    There is no rewarding,promoting, or incentives for working hard. To advance within this company you have to be willing to throw your own mother under a bus. The people designated to be the top paid and hardest workers (area leads).... lack motivation, harass anyone they deem unworthy of their presence, and humiliate anyone they see fit. All of which is acceptable because they are in good with management. Ive seen 5 people come and go in just a few months due to the unabashed bullying which goes unchecked. If you do lodge a complaint with your Manager... he is very likely going to tell the person AND do nothing about it. So there is an environment where not only will you be bullied, humiliated and overworked....but you better not speak up about it or you will find yourself in thr unemployment line.

    Try and avoid a lawsuit by removing negativity
    Give employees incentives
    Raise hourly wages
