I have been working at Old Navy part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The management at the store has been consistently fantastic. They are clear with expectations and objectives in every given shift. They are very flexible when it comes to students rearranging hours or returning only over their breaks.

    Cons

It is only a part time job so there are no benefits or perks associated with the position. However, Gap is leading the charge when it comes to increasing retail wages and is raising the minimum wage for all employees in 2014.

I have been working at Old Navy part-time for more than a year

    Pros

pays well, works with your schedules, short hours, training is done by sales associates, and you are kinda left to figure the rest out as you go.

    Cons

Management only schedules four hour shifts, rarely more than that. i hate when new hires just start, but most learn quickly or they are just not scheduled, but honestly most people quit or don't show up.

I have been working at Old Navy part-time for more than a year

    Pros

They work well with my schedule, and the managers genuinely care. This was my first job, and one of the only places willing to hire a sixteen year old. The team is fantastic and the atmosphere is fun.

    Cons

The job does get monotonous and a little boring after a while, but that can go for almost any retail job.

I have been working at Old Navy part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Management, lots of hours to those who work for them, opportunity for advancement, community awareness, good discount

    Cons

Sometimes it's hard to get transferred to another store for advancement. If your manager likes you, they may want to keep you in their own store making advancing quickly a bit hard at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Watch for talent in your stores and accelerate it. Cash handlers and lower level management are often looking to move up!

    I worked at Old Navy

    Pros

Flexibility with scheduling (a little less so if you are in a management position), FUN work environment, great management- at least at the stores I worked in.

    Cons

Retail hours- weekends and holidays especially but anyone going into a retail job should expect this. Some upper management go crazy with pushing numbers but cutting payroll.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't cut payroll so drastically and expect the same level of task completion/goal reaching.
