    Cons

no interest in advancing employees careers at all. every manager has own agenda ahead of employee morale, employees are not respected on any level

    Advice to Management

care more about who you hire and treat those at lower levels with respect. make morale a priority

I have been working at Omnicell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great new building, equipment, conf rooms, WiFi

    Cons

Very hard to thrive in an environment where the distance between those empowered and those who are powerless gets larger every day. Respect is not earned easily. Too many reorganizations of middle management and too few leaders at the top. Compared to any other silicon valley software company this one truly lacks vision.

    Advice to Management

Take heed from HP and walk among the people, listen to ideas, shift the sands less often. Stick to a vision to grow people Internally who are in different ranks than top tier.

I have been working at Omnicell full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, gym and pay is competitive.

    Cons

No work life balance and long hours. Unqualified management that you would never see in other companies be in charge of entire departments. Train these individuals to treat others with respect. They say they respect their employees but managements action show otherwise. Best to keep quiet if you want to stay employed at Omnicell .

    Advice to Management

Make sure you hire qualified individuals to supervise and manage others.

    Pros

Got to work with some nice people.

    Cons

Very low pay. Impossible to get a decent raise. No real chance of promotions but many false promises.

    Advice to Management

Follow industry pay standards and give what everyone else pays. Stop making promises that you can't keep.

I have been working at Omnicell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Omnicell is updating much of the ancient MTS product line. The products are interesting to work on (robots and automation are cool). Great skills opertunities if you work on the right project. Recent Scrum process seems good. Really good benefits.

    Cons

Lots of very obsolete software. Recent marketing chaos is really damaging. Everything is rushed and high priority putting everything at risk. Some managers treat thier people badly. Awful raises.

    Advice to Management

Focus on a long term plan for success. Try to create a sustainable work environment.

I have been working at Omnicell full-time

    Pros

Good location in heart of silicon valley. Good place to park yourself while you figure out what you want to do in life.

    Cons

    Poor leadership from CEO down.

  9. Good company, but...

    Pros

Overall, Omnicell employees work hard, are passionate about their work, and genuinely care about customers. Staff at headquarters works well with staff in the field. Solid engineering team. The CEO has a good reputation with customers and employees. His story and background make a compelling case for Omnicell products. Wish he was surrounded by stronger senior management.

    Cons

Compensation and benefits aren't exceptional. Senior management often fails to deliver on promises. The biggest issue is the constant reorganization. It leads to distrust of management and questions about job security.

    Advice to Management

Remember that employees are your best assets - promote from within if it makes sense. Look for opportunities to expand your "good old boy" network. Solicit employee feedback and respond to it. Remember, it is hard to listen if you are busy talking over employees.

Ok company to work for. Has a lot of potential for growth if Sr. Mgmt/Executive Staff will stick with one plan.

I have been working at Omnicell full-time

    Pros

Flexibility to work from remote when needed, high-tech. Plenty of opportunities for online training. Keeps its employees well informed of the company's quarterly financial performance.

    Cons

High Turn over, marginal salary increases. Sr. Mgmt/Executives constantly changing direction with company's focus on new products and product enhancements.

    Advice to Management

Need to work to retain your top talent, not just let them walk out the door taking their experience and knowledge with them.

I have been working at Omnicell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Compensation is reasonable and depending on your manager, there could be a great work-life balance. You have to be in control of it though. Very laid-back office environment. I would recommend this job to a friend but with some warnings.

    Cons

If you don't have a management title, although the experience and knowledge is there, you may not be heard of or taken seriously. The company does a reorg almost every year and the turnover rate seems to stay in the double digits year after year. I've been here for several years, I don't feel safe in the stability of my position because of this. Not sure if the company is focused on their direction.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what your employees are buzzing about.
