In my experience the company was fine to work for. I worked nights so I never really saw management.

I worked at Onslow Memorial Hospital full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The pay was good but the hours were bad. I did not like 7pm to 7am but this probably works for someone else.

    Cons

A lot of the other staff was lazy. Most of the night was spent at the nurses station depending on lower level employees to do most of the work. If you do your job and not let that get to you, you should be fine.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure that your nurses have good bedside manner. I witnessed a nurse tell a family that their mother was going to die, it was a part of life and there was nothing she could do. This may have been true but that was still someone's family member.

    Pros

Low wages but the great benefits make up for that. Everybody works as a team.

    Cons

HR policies are unclear. Easy to get write up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Floor Manager should stand up for your dedicated employees. HR needs a complete over hall.

I worked at Onslow Memorial Hospital full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Working with a wonderful staff and meeting interesting patients. The benefits was standard for the surrounding areas.

    Cons

The unfairness in writes ups without investgation and not given a chance to tell your side of the stories.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider your staff as people with life and not just employees.

I have been working at Onslow Memorial Hospital full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Decent benefits, salary a bit on low side but decent.

    Cons

Administration building had a bit of a hen house environment. Could have been better regulated by upper management but was allowed to continue for too long. I believe the main problem has been since fired from the time I worked there though.

I worked at Onslow Memorial Hospital

    Pros

Salary and benefits are in line. But no raises in a few years.

    Cons

Senior Management does not have a grasp of things at a lower level, only the mile high view.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the talk in regards to being loyal to staff. Remove the politics that hold good staff back and promotes and tolerates non performing staff. It is not the military, senior staff need to be looked at in regards to managers and directors.
