    Pros

Memories, lots of good memories of these times where Opera was a consulting firm, full of talented and energetic people. Clear vision, no lies, and a ton of fun.

    Cons

Too many lies, not a clear vision, low salary. Worst thing was the attitude of the CEO toward the good people that left. People are the main assets of consulting firm and not doing anything to stop them from leave (at a rate of 2 or 3 per month) is not a smart idea.

    Advice to Management

    Stop creating false reviews...

I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

1.) The best reason to join this company is only if you do not have any other opportunities . 2.) Another best thing is if you are looking for free friday food

    Cons

Can give a whole list of cons which would exceeds 100 times the cons 1.) Worst management ever 2.) The number of people leaving the company is exponential. 3.) Work is not organized. 4.) They would hire bunch of IITians from india and after 4 years they will become managers who would not know how to code. So they have no idea how much effort it would take to complete a task. They keep pushing you till you broke down. 5.) If you join as a junior they will literally give you manual labor tasks. You will not learn a single thing and would end up in this company for a long time doing the excel work. 6.) Teams are located across the globe . so you will end up working 24*7 . Work distribution is the worst. 7.) work life balance is the worst among 3 companies i worked ,

    Advice to Management

Please try to make sure people are satisfied with what they are doing. No one will be able their mouth if you want to talk face to face. So one-one meeting is not the way to know employees difficulties .

I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None. Three CEO in three Years, three business plans in three years. Management is most confused consulting or product development ? Sr. Data scientist or junior developer. They still have free Boos and ping pong table :).

    Cons

Telent is leaving faster then snow comming down in Boson. nothing left on floor all empty. Please do not read other reviews which are total bogus. No one cares what you doing ? Hiring and firing on month to month bases. Less revenue then fire, new project then hire... Keep it simle is their motto. Pardon me for being point blank.

    Advice to Management

NONE. Pack up your bags and enjoy summer, Since you are not paying any vacation pay or severence, enjoy all the saved money. Karma will catch up to you soon,

    Pros

None. The COOs do deals that make no sense and only prop up their own egos.

    Cons

Are known for not paying people for untaken vacation time when laid off or fired - whick is illegal. The COOs are famous for running people into the ground and then firing them. The current theory is they have compromising photos of the board otherwise they'd be fired. No one knows why they're still allowed to be there.

    Advice to Management

    Close your doors.

    Pros

Not sure. I like to find the good in everything but it would be a stretch here.

    Cons

Management lacks emotional intelligence. Attrition is so high you meet someone one week, they are gone the next. No one seems to know who does what. Internal process is cumbersome and absurd. People walk around with scowls on their face. I would be very afraid to come here unless you are desperate for work and have no other options.

    Advice to Management

Maybe the new CEO will change things but it wont happen soon. I would look very closely at management.....

I worked at Opera Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smart coworkers, very global so you get to interact across every time zone possible often in the same day, new CEO who is just begging for someone to lead so great opportunity to look smart even if you have no clue, high turnover allows for ample opportunity for those with no experience to try out senior roles and pad their resumes for the next gig.

    Cons

Everybody who is smart is leaving so fast that you may not have enough time to update your linked in profile before the next job search. Benefits change every year so you can't possibly figure out if your getting screwed unless you compare them to normal companies.

    Advice to Management

Stop the games you are playing with people's lives you haven't done a thing for employees over the past two years and you seem more intent on screwing people over than actually building a business please stop and for once treat employees with respect perhaps you could take some sensitivity training since you are basically rehashing the same failing strategy year over year so you must have some free time.

I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some interesting projects, nice views from the office, currently there is probably a good opportunity for advancement given the mass exodus (very, very, very high attrition recently)

    Cons

There aren't very many good people left, the vast majority of the employee base (~90%) has been at Opera for < 2 years, no culture, shady moves by mgmt, inability to staff projects sufficiently given the high attrition = very high risk of not being able to deliver current engagements and recently sold engagements (clients beware), very bad benefits

    Advice to Management

Find a new job - everyone else is looking, so should you (you probably already are)

    Pros

Nice office view of Hudson river. No one cares what you are doing (Pro for slackers). Otherwise see no pros and hope. Management talks all positive that's it.

    Cons

Management confused as ever product company or consulting company. Make you work hard and when time comes of payout rules are changed so as delay the incentive and then pay few hundreds. Management is clueless, frequent Town Hall's and talks. Busy flying around the world and cares least about employees. Big Data is all BS. None of their products are delivered on time and as promised (Quality is out of question) Please check with the customers, they are all very dis-satisfied.

    Advice to Management

No advice, It is damaged beyond repair. Every year new philosophy with new management and rules.

    Pros

Good company for floater's and below average performer.

    Cons

Not sure where should I start. Horrible management, No sense of pride in their delivery its all about $$$$. No project planning, Quality of work, any data security. Bonus is namesake, be ready to get $100 if you are developer upper management sucks out all the cream and actual delivery team gets peanuts. I can go on for few more pages. There is nothing "BIG" about this so called "BIG DATA" company.

    Advice to Management

Old or New its the same thoughts but glorified. I am giving LONE star for showing up for work (oops sorry .. no manager is every accessible to employee)
