    Pros

They've done a great job of building out a team of mostly intelligent and capable people, they've landed some big-name clients in the past, and the pay was OK. They do a pretty good job of being transparent inside the company. They will promote you fast.

    Cons

Despite spending a lot of time on training and documentation around what the process for their projects should be, they end up re-inventing it with every project / every new hire. Some of the managers / directors are jerks just for the sake of being jerks. On several projects I was on the sales guys or project managers seemed to just, on their own, make up schedules and estimates for the project and expect us to hit them. They haven't really been very good at landing new clients lately; the clock is ticking on their main cash cow.

    Advice to Management

Focus on The Airport Test for hiring managers and make sure you'd actually want to spend 8 hours with them. This person will be the main point of contact for your staff and your clients, it's important they be likable and fair. You've lost some really great managers over the last year, people who really cared about their teams. Many of the managers who are left aren't really the sort of people the staff would ever want to have show up at a happy hour, and have reputations for throwing people under the bus if their projects starts to go sour. Managers should be human shields for their team, not slave drivers.

    Pros

Flexibility, lots of work travel (plus if you are young and single), heavy use of open source software specifically in CMS engagements (plone, alfresco, zope and php). Great place to build your chops if CMS is your thing.

    Cons

Erratic leadership, focused more on short term bottom line revenue rather than long term customer satisfaction. I encountered integrity violation while on the job when it came to dealing with customers. They do have smart, seasoned and mature leadership but they seem to be out voted by the more "dodgy" ones. The dog that barks the loudest gets the most attention syndrome was present while I worked there. Also growing within the company seemed more of a popularity contest rather than mature business execution.

    Advice to Management

Try not to be flash in the pan and repeat Sapient. Maybe focus more on true differentiation and leadership when it comes to growing employees.

    Pros

You have an opportunity to work on e-commerce projects that run in the cloud. Friendly colleagues and a nice office space.

    Cons

No vision. No interest in the development of the employee. Any verbal promises they make about your career/growth are not honored. So if they promise you something make them put that in writing. After 2 years most of the people I've known there have left.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employee not in your pockets.

    Pros

Good technical people willing to share knowledge
Possibility to work with various pieces of technology
    Happy hours
    Good compensation & benefits overall

    Cons

    Stagnating company
Changed directions too many times. No real vision for where to go.
Poor staffing on projects (skills available vs needs) causing lots of delivery issues
Issues with staffing projection (loop: lay-offs, hiring, end loop)

    Advice to Management

Do not start a project if you don't have the right staffing
Pick a direction and turn the boat to avoid the iceberg!
