    Pros

close to my house so dont have to drive far

    Cons

over worked and under paid poor management especially on the night shift and the level of micro management is out of control

    Advice to Management

take a step back and listen to your employees and pay them what they deserve for the harsh hours and understaffed worked you put them through

I have been working at Owens & Minor full-time

    Pros

You work with good people who can get the job done each night. They have a decent perfect attendance incentive program

    Cons

8-11 hour shift you only get 2 15 minute breaks. Only when you work 12 hours do you get another 15 minute break. Turn over is horrible

    Advice to Management

Talk to your teammates more, they know how to make a warehouse run smoothly in ways that management wouldnt be able to come up with on their own. They also need to add a 30 minute unpaid break

I have been working at Owens & Minor (More than 10 years)

    Pros

if you look busy, you can stay under the radar. Pay is average.

    Cons

Training is minimal, it is not standardized, confusing at best for employees with no history of medical distribution. Seniority has no relevance.. if you have an opinion, keep it to yourself because mgmt. feels you are challenging their authority. The work environment has become all about the bottom line, no concern for employees and/or their families. The work environment is cold and sterile.

    Advice to Management

Training needs to be standardized. Get some formal training together so new employees come in ready to work.

I have been working at Owens & Minor full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Weekends off is very nice and the shift hours are goo as well either 630-230 or 3-11 no having to stay late ever!! sometimes they give you a extra 5mins on your break

    Cons

You get 2 15mins breaks they say 20mins but you have to be back by the time the bell rings it's like grade school the clean room work is under paid and over worked if you enjoy being bullied or spoken to rudely by staff and forced to do nothing but wrap while others get a break then by all means go here it's hard work for peanuts most of the stuff will ignore you and be prepared to sweat all day long!!! And if you can't learn the wrapping skill in the whole 2 days of training you get let go pretty quick also they tell you that you will get a raise after leaving the temp agency if they hire you that's a lie most of the folks there barely make 9 a hour not worth it DONT GET A JOB HERE UNLESS YOUR DESPERATE

    Advice to Management

Training should be longer than 2 days and stop training in a room upstairs with no idea of what working on a line will really be like there is no way to get used to a moving belt of products when nothing is truly moving as well as the fact there are tons of different wrap materials being trained on just 2-3 is not helpful as well as the trainers not fully doing there job if you don't have it or see people struggling and they want to learn work with them as well and instead of having rude managers that pretty much don't care about anyone but themselves or have there favorites get some level headed people that don't speak to you like a child of 3

    I worked at Owens & Minor full-time

    Pros

Work/Life balance is the best pro....your always home on the weekends. Company does offer a lot of different benefits.

    Cons

Management. Raises do not even cover cost of living increase. Management shows favoritism. A lot of backstabbing with teammates. Insurance deductibles are atrocious.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting the inmates run the prison,

    Pros

Decent pay for the area. no weekends on certain shifts. Some pretty decent folks working at this location and in this company. Job itselft ain't too bad of a gig. Not hard to learn and the equipment is easy to learn to. They always looking for people.

    Cons

Odd culture, over promise and under deliver constantly, one supervisor is a terrible leader. Communication is always bad or there be none at all. Never enough people there to fill all the jobs.

    Pros

Great mix of people. Fast paced work makes the day go by. Immature people makes work pretty entertaining. Enough to get by for now....

    Cons

New management only cares about the bottom line, previous management would at least come out and make a effort to communicate and show some interest in the teammates. People can't follow simple SOP'S, makes the daily work load more difficult. Believe in hard work? Don't waste your energy, management likes to promote average teammates with no drive or heart. Leaving those teammates who put in the energy and work on the back burner. You want a job to just collect a check this is it, if you think your work ethic will help you grow within "the company" your mistaken. Enjoy working in a stressful environment because people are oblivious and flat out lazy apply within.

    Advice to Management

Wake up. Treat your good teammates better.

I worked at Owens & Minor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The pay and benefits were good and local teammates were great!

    Cons

Long days and upper management seems clueless to the local issues. Owens and Minor cut me after 21 years of service and I received a great review prior month. Management focused on the dollar and not their employees. Cut a lot of the older reps and brought in new a younger reps I assume to pay less.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be more approachable and honest.
