    Pros

IT was busy. They generally hired good people and they care about the customer dining experience.

    Cons

Customers were kind of cheap. It was a place where wealthy people go when they're broke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You're doing a good job!

    Pros

sometimes flexible schedule, worked with amazing staff

    Cons

had to work extremely hard for little / no money .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management was a joke and could easily get the company in a lot of trouble for not administering breaks or following laws.

    I have been working at P.F. Chang's part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, great coworkers, company mantra that allows you do go above and beyond to make guests happy.

    Cons

High turnover in management. Most staff has been there 5-10 years and seen turnover in management multiple times., lots of corporate changes come down the pipeline that guests misconstrue as local changes that we can modify.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the team, let us work together without micromanaging. The staff works well together as a team, encourage that instead of picking apart individuals.

    I worked at P.F. Chang's full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

If you want to work they'll put you to work. I was working six days a week and three or four of those days were doubles. Tips are decent.

    Cons

When you work a double you're there for at work almost all day. So work becomes your life. Rich snobs can ruin your day. Always different managers. Went through three OPs in a year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stay longer than a year.

    I worked at P.F. Chang's full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They offer a flexible schedule and an employee meal discount. Plus at the start and end of every day they would make a family meal.

    Cons

Management excellence is not consistent across locations. This has an impact on morale. You'll have some managers who value employees for the people that they are. Then, you'll have some that are more concerned about numbers that they forget how important high morale can be to increasing profitability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If a server comes to you needing assistance it means a guest needs assistance so stop jabbering table side with guests that most likely would prefer you'd go away.

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop better communication between the management and the staff. Focus some attention on the guests not just administration duties and operation logistics of the restaurant.

    I worked at P.F. Chang's part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment, everyone gets along and works on team service. Managers are caring and understanding, they get to know you on a more personal level than if you were just their employee who clocks in and out.

    Cons

A lot of favoritism from management

Former Employee - Wok Cook in San Diego, CA

    I worked at P.F. Chang's part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

as a cook, the hourly pay is ok and if you get a good store or manager, you'll be able to eat plenty. ample opportunities to move up. private ownership of the company really ruined a lot of the managerial perks.

    Cons

the hours suck. i worked 6 days a week over the summer and only clocked in 36-38 hrs a week. most shifts are 6-6.5 hrs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

treat your good workers better. give them the hours they want/need instead of splitting them with new hires that are barely learning how to toss food in a wok
