I have been working at PHFE full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Money... sorry. That's about it. There is nothing to see here.

    Cons

No one was professional. The leadership under Blaine and others is sorely lacking. I wouldn't trust my back office function to this group it was that last option on earth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire someone with a true business understanding. This company is dead.

I have been working at PHFE full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great clients and programs serving the community based and public health needs of communities. Used to be a wonderful place to work.

    Cons

The CEO, Nancy Kindelan and PHFE's executive management team are at their absolute worst. CEO is quick to judge, does not listen, can not admit when she is wrong, and rules with an iron fist.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take inventory of staff; you will find that most are unhappy yet afraid of retaliation should they speak up and provide feedback. The organizations infrastructure is crumbling, due to the CEO and her minions, aka Management Team!

I have been working at PHFE

    Pros

The company had good celebrations for everything.

    Cons

The current CEO feels as though she can speak to any staff (even programs aka CLIENTS) any way she feels appropriate. What she says "goes". She's a discriminating bigot and if you disagree with her she makes it her personal mission to make your life hell at work. She also has KEY people that act as her inside flunkies. This used to be a great & fun place to work. I used to love working here and for one of the directors who is no longer there, until Nancy Kindelan became INTERIM(!) CEO. It's time for the interim period to end. The new CEO cannot start soon enough.

Nancy is running the company into the ground.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plead with the new CEO to start sooner!
Investigate the CEO's behavior and decisions!

Bureaucratic & unsupportive - their only concern is avoiding lawsuits

I have been working at PHFE full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

5% of salary contributed to 501c; some of the support staff at PHFE headquarters are very nice

    Cons

It feels like micromanaging to the extreme - punch in/punch out timesheets for all employees including office-workers, can only take sick days after a holiday with a doctor's notes, their handbook calls unauthorized overtime "theft" and very strongly discourages worker organizing (unionizing). It really seems like they want to have complete control of their employees, and that their #1 worry is whether they might get sued for something. I think treating their employees with respect and looking out for them would be more effective in avoiding lawsuits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the concerns from employees and senior management within your programs, and treat us like professional adults, not factory workers.
