    Pros

Not many pros. Decent pay. Stable company.

    Cons

Bad leadership. No Accountability for anyone. Bad designed products. No process. No vision.

    Advice to Management

Make your people be accountable. Focus on the improving the culture of poor quality products into high value useful products. Remove the Pros cliques that have been their for 10 plus years and don't provide any value other than getting in the way of progress.

    Pros

The individual contributors have great teamwork, team spirit, and willingness to help. Great culture at the mid to lower levels.

    Cons

All decisions are held at the executive level and poor communication outward. Executives huddle and then decide.

    Advice to Management

Empower your employees. Not in your words but in your actions.

    Pros

Very smart people; tolerant, multi-cultural environment; intellectually challenging; flexible work schedule; can work from home; occasional rewards for all employees regardless of performance; value the individual

    Cons

No work-life balance; all employees have laptops which results in working evenings and weekends. It is expected. The constantly looming deadlines, complexity of implementing the pricing software, and customer demands make it a 24/7 job.

    Advice to Management

Keep you renegade, megalomaniac managers under control. As in every company, there are good and bad managers. Politics allows some real slave drivers to destroy their subordinates and claim all the glory for themselves. You know who they are, but close your eyes to it and don't act on it. Also, less nepotism might be good.

    Pros

PROS has a pretty relaxed work environment (within the development organization) with long periods of little work.
The benefits aren't bad (okay pay, flexible hours).
It is a very easy place to simply show up and not make waves.

    Cons

There are no interesting problems to work on, not that I've ever seen. The only "work" is patching up problems induced by poor processes which in turn adds to the already significant technical debt.
There is no long term vision for the company, which means no career development.
Things like the tuition reimbursement program are a sham, but good for selling new hires on the company.
It is very easy to be pigeonholed into whatever role you were hired into. Lots of folks have been doing the exact same job for years on end, which becomes the expectation for new employees.
Training is nonexistent, which would be a problem if you ever needed to know something about the products offered.

    Advice to Management

I'd recommend training your workforce and establishing a long term vision for the company (and then sharing it with your employees).
Stop contracting out development and QE. Invest in your employees - it will probably cost more in the short-term but the hole only gets deeper the longer you keep digging.

    Pros

Hard to say, some nice people, overall challenging work

    Cons

Too many leaders, they have gotten over-loaded with Vice Presidents.....not enough people doing the work. No work/life balance, pay not competitive, many senior managers operate in silos and not qualified to be leaders.

    Advice to Management

Free snacks don't overcome fundamental flaws in leadership. Focus on your people and not on your bottom line. Add resources where it counts, not more presidents, more people in the trenches.

    Pros

Decent pay. Enjoy the people I work with. Can work from home.

    Cons

Work life balance is tough. Zero concern for employee development. Management plays favorites. Never say no to a customer, so the entry level employees have to deliver way to much while management looks good for keeping customer.

    Advice to Management

Start being concerned with bottom line, not top. Stop reporting Non GAAP earnings when we lose money. Stop acting like we are peers with Deloitte/Accenture/IBM and stop acting like we are a "big data company" We use MS SQL Server....

    Pros

    Benefits, office environment. Vacation policy

    Cons

They stress work/life balance. However, it's all just rhetoric.
Job readiness training is virtually nonexistent- if you don't know it going in, you'll have to figure it out yourself and quickly. Leadership/management direction and goals are confusing and change literally day by day. Much of what has been planned and developed long-term is changed causing panic, and undue pressure for all. Major platforms fail to reach fruition as planned.

    Advice to Management

Stop watching the ticker tape each day and spend time with the heart of the company........your people.

    Pros

Flex work hours, free snacks and other perks, smart and friendly colleagues.

    Cons

Lots of unqualified people playing manager roles, don't look to grow people, lack leadership skills, lack vision and focus. Career paths are unclear. Heavy politics. Tense environment around managers.

    Advice to Management

Consider reorganizing based on Meritocracy, and define clearly the career paths.

    Pros

    +Excellent people
+Nice perks (free snacks, ice cream, etc)
    +Good location (Houston office)
    +Good products with satisfied customers
+Growth company that's doing very well financially
    +Excellent internship programs
    +Culture and values are great

    Cons

    -Extremely disorganized
-Senior management are very reactive and never follow through with a plan
    -Compensation not very competitive
-Little room to grow; still a small company at heart
    -Lack of communication between groups
    -Difficulty making decisions
-Internal politics becoming a big problem
-Expect employees to work long hours; poor work/life balance
    -Very high turnover

    Advice to Management

Delegate. If you want the company to grow at the rate that's being communicated to Wall Street, the same three people can't be making every single decision. The lack of trust senior management has in employees is detrimental to morale and hurting productivity.

    Pros

Very rigiorous interview process for Developers (only).
New technologies being tested all the time.
Free drinks and chips and candies.

    Cons

Very few leaders. CEO has a good vision, but dictatorial. Has some close buddies whom he promoted soley to have total control over all departments.
Every other person is a VP or director. It is quite common to have a layer of 3 or 4 VPs reporting to each other.
Lot of glitter from the outside to attract good talent, who will like it for a while until they realize things are different.
Development Team is the strongest both in quality and politics.CEO was from that department so they take all decisions about the product and the product mangement team is basically a group of note takers.

    Advice to Management

Please share the wealth. Make each and every employee a part of the success not by praising and handing out end of year worthless gifts, but providing things that you and your favorite employees enjoy - bonus plans, and sell them stock options at the same price as you get them.
Think about the customer. Yes, think about the customer. Think about a product with having cool capabilities and not just cool technologies. Dont first build products and then expect customers to buy it just because you think it is a good product. There is a lot of domain knowledge specially in the airline side, use them.
