    Pros

Entry level contract positions at large companies with the hope that one day you will get hired on full time by the company that you physically work at.

    Cons

As a contract worker there are lese benefits than if you were actually hired by the company that you physically work at.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More job growth opportunities within Pace itself.

Former Employee - Lab Technician III
Former Employee - Lab Technician III

    Pros

Gained experience. The company is good at training new people who have no prior work experience in the field. Benefits were ok.

    Cons

Low pay. Work load would often vary. Overtime would sometimes be required due to rush work coming in late in the day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The CEO sent out an email basically telling everyone to vote Republican, because Obama's polices would not be good for the company. I felt this was inappropriate.

    Pros

Flexible hours, benefits, occasional lunches, and fun environment

    Cons

    Management could use some improvement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the advice of the people who are actually do the work. No one likes to be told what to do, especially by someone who isn't in the middle of the action.

    Pros

The people are great and make the work pressure free which cant be said about many work environments.

    Cons

Dont expect to be hired to a permanent lab position after the temporary contract expires.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More permanent lab position should be made so that it isnt always just new people every year because with experience comes quality.

  11.

Good "stepping stone" job and learned a lot, but not a company I'd want to work for as a career.

    • Career Opportunities
Former Employee - Environmental Lab Technician I  in  Schenectady, NY
Former Employee - Environmental Lab Technician I in Schenectady, NY

    Pros

    -Clean facility
    -Most co-workers were pleasant
-Schenectady lab management was friendly, kind, and helpful
    -Good health benefits options

    Cons

-Very low pay considering all the chemicals an employee is exposed to
-Regional and corporate management is not friendly and seems greedy
    -Dredge overtime
-Cheap on pay raises and bonuses

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Being a lab tech at Pace was a good first year working experience, but not good to make a career out of. Not that much opportunity for higher positions unless you want to be an analyst. I agree with the previous review in that there was much corporate greed. Actual facility management was nice but regional management was not. The management also seemed to play favorites at times, luckily I was one of them but if you're not then you will be upset. Feels more like "a job" rather than satisfying career in most employmentpositions, which is why I say it's better for work experience rather than as a career.
