I have been working at Pacific Pulmonary Services full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great sales support. Plenty of marketing materials provided. Customer service team, manager, and other sales representatives in my region are very helpful. Benefits are good. Work life balance is great. Commission structure is really good, but a higher base would be nice. Patient centered sales force compared to many other companies out there.

    Cons

DME industry is tough due to strict medicare guidelines. A ton of competition in the industry. PPS does not accept as many insurance providers as some of their competitors, but this is something they are actively working on. I have had a positive experience with the company and enjoyed the job, but industry can be frustrating when docs can't prescribe your services due to pt's insurance guidelines and/or carrier not accepted by company. Some regions are at an advantage b/c they accept more insurance than other regions (ex some regions accept Access while others do not)

Other cons are typical operational issues any small company that has recently experienced change would have.

    Pros

Pay is great for the DME Industry and while their is a lot of dysfunction but there are people in Senior Leadership and Executive roles that have their hearts in the right place to make things better and it is slowly headed in that direction.

    Cons

Dysfunction, Constant changes in policy and procedures. At times those policies and procedures are not introduced in an orderly fashion that is understood across the board by all employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the constant policy changes and stop doing things to lose all of your top veteran salespeople.

    Pros

I was pleasantly surprised when joining PPS. There are a lot of negative reviews floating out there and I find my experience a bit different.

Sure the company has it's flaws, as all do. More importantly it seems that now is a major transition time for Pacific Pulmonary. They seem to be pushing in all the right areas to be a truly high quality DME.

This may be my excessive optimism, but I am happy I chose PPS.

    Cons

Still many PCC's in the field doing things the 'old' way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

PPS stick to the route you have laid out for yourself.

Weed out any bad apples and cultivate a compassionate patient first culture.

I have been working at Pacific Pulmonary Services

    Pros

This company is rapidly growing and a dedicated person can definitely do a lot of professional growth here. The people in the corporate office work extremely hard to make the field offices function at a very high, compliant level. This company definitely rewards success for those who can make it past the 1 year mark.

    Cons

This company has recently had a few overhauls and the management is centrally located. This means that those offices on the fringes are a little "wild wild west" and those near the corporate office are very compliant and adapt to shifts in structure and policy much more quickly. This leads to difference in reviews, bonuses, etc. and lots of turnover from people who aren't willing to invest themselves in the company enough to get over the initial rough patches.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more transparent. Keeping everything so close to the chest makes it hard for people to grow and aspire to do more. As a company that thrives on 6 key values, demonstrate those values yourself and it will follow in the field offices.

    Pros

The company has a lot more personal touches than its competitors. It is a grassroots organization where everyone is on a first name basis.

    Cons

The company is still finding their way in he 21st century. Changes are fast and many. Sometimes the employees fall victim to gaps in planning

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
