Advice to Senior Management – Put yourself on the market to be bought

I worked at Panasonic full-time for more than a year
Pros – 50% 401K match up to 8% and benefits as soon as you start, but that is where it ends.
Cons – Average workforce age is 55+, most of these people should have been let go a long time ago, but their pensions and layoff packages would cost too much money. These employees do not add value anymore, they are out of touch.
Advice to Senior Management – Get younger! Change is needed.

I have been working at Panasonic full-time for more than a year
Pros – Good benefits, the nicest people, excellent products that hold their own against anything the competition can bring to market.
Cons – A group president in the consumer organization that is, quite frankly, psychotic. A lack of marketing or branding at any level, long thankless work in a very unappreciative environment where it's best to cover your tail rather than try and do what is right for the company/marketplace. Truly horrifying culture of blame and embarrass rather than embrace and create.
Advice to Senior Management – Group President refuses to accept/adopt the US marketplace, lectures employees regularly about how they are poor and lack commitment/professionalism. As the senior leader and a junior board member, he needs to recognize that his employees are his greatest assets, and by abusing them verbally on such a regular basis, he is merely abusing those assets. Finally, do some branding already! The products are the best in the business (and everyone in the business knows this, and will agree) but there is no brand presence whatsoever!

I have been working at Panasonic
Pros – It began a new project, totally a new, like a startup environment
Cons – No stock, No bonus, no annual review after 1 year although they told you you had in the begnining
In the beginning, they said that you were a GREAT, SMART person and we will give a big bonus for you in the final. Then you worked hard, one year later, you may lay off when you are not useful for them although you are a full-time employee.
In the finnally The manager will say, we can easy hire a new employee to replace you.
Advice to Senior Management – Fair to employee

I worked at Panasonic
Pros – 401k is being matched at once you get hired
Medical benefits are OK.
If you like traveling, this is the place for you, they'll give you lots of travel.
Salary is ok, a little bit higher than the average.
Interviews were very quick, only 1 one-on-one interview, then take the drug test, and getting an offer.
Cons – Not so much promotions you'll get stuck on your position for a long time, no recognitions, low morale, don't care about employees, advancement is poor.
Advice to Senior Management – More recognitions to the key people who are doing the actual projects when they succeed.

I worked at Panasonic
Pros – Only if you need a paycheck and can't find work elsewhere. A great place to work if you have no ambition or goals.
Cons – Low pay as compared to other companies. Ridiculous sales quotas not based on personal achievement. Compensation schedules are changed by management at will or ignored if they feel the company is not profitable enough. It's a real pain to get reimbursed for business expenses. No pay raises or chance of advancement. Frequent reorganizations and management changes. Old timers control the company and fight change. Lack of communication from management. Incompetent senior management rotates from division to division. Foreign managers make the decisions.
Advice to Senior Management – The company is like a time capsule. Your policy and procedures are obsolete. You need new blood that’s empowered to make changes.

I worked at Panasonic
Pros – Some of the products are good but by and large the accountants have run this former technology powerhouse into the ground. Read the WSJ and see for yourself.
Cons – This is a company run by a madman who sets employees off against each other. No one in the company knows what is really important. Morale is very low. This is the GM of Japan and headed down the same road.
Advice to Senior Management – None, all the good people left or were fired in the past 5 years

I worked at Panasonic
Pros – If you need a job they can provide some good experience, and through that experience you will learn to appreciate every other company you work for
Cons – Long term goals are to dismantle the US site, evidenced in the complete outsourcing of MIS from 400 people to 11, with IBM doing everything. Overall, 2300 employees in 2002 down to 850 in 2008 speaks for itself
Advice to Senior Management – Working for Japan, job well done! The American division has been transformed from a company to a sales division. No one will push back in the future, because all intelligence has been stripped out.
From an American perspective, your short term gains will be paid for many times over when the future management has to try to penetrate in the US again. Matsushita would have windowed you if still alive!

I have been working at Panasonic
Pros – None. Unless you are out of work and need it bad. Only good thing that I can think of is traveling and that is if you like traveling. I have worked for many companies but this is by far the worst company to work for in my opinion. All of my coworkers who left this company, got better salaries and compensation.
Cons – Bad management, attitude towards the employees and compensation. Management constantly make promises to employees that it can't keep. There is no work/Life balance with this company. Employees are treated like slaves. No real prospects for getting promoted or other career advancements. Middle management is worst that I have seen.
Advice to Senior Management – Better communication and be honest to your employees. Don't make any promises you can not keep. Compensation is one of major factor for people to leave.
