I enjoyed working there at first.

    Scheduler (Current Employee) Bolingbrook, IL

ProsI was making a fair salary and had good benefits.

ConsProclaiming themselves a "family" company was hogwash. It was about profits. There was a huge component of the workforce that was dead wood. They often kept these folks during the 11 layoffs I went through. (Ten survived, one not) This environment of continuously worrying about your job was very hard to deal with.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe honest. I was flat out lied to several times by management.

I worked for Panduit for 24 years and 10 months, but the final three years were not much fun

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat company with a tremendous leader who passed away this past year. Very loyal for the first 20 years of my career there. Amazing vision and real people to work for and with.

ConsIn the 2005 period and therafter the company lost their long time focus and the leaders at that time were only in it for themselves. Qualtiy levels decreased and accountablity was no longer visiible.

Advice to Senior ManagementGo back to the way "Jack" ran the company in the 70's 80's and 90's. you'll see a dramatic difference right away. It's OK to make a mistake.

Dont just assume the grass is greener

Electrical Tech (Former Employee) Tinley Park, IL

Prosgood benifits, competitive salary, the opportunity for tution reimbursment
I have read alot of the reviews for Panduit let me tell you i left because of the uncertainty of having a job after moving some of the production overseas. There is political BS is in every company no matter where you go every company is looking to fill their pockets with the elusive dollar, along with that every company is looking for you to do more for the same pay.

Consthe company trying to be like others instead of just leading the way and having others try to be like them.

Advice to Senior ManagementLet your employees know what your looking for if the employees know what is expected of them even when those expectations change moral will increase.

Depends on the groups you're working with

Engineer (Former Employee) Tinley Park, IL

ProsGood business overall although its disappointing that they need to send so many jobs out of the US

ConsA little less red tape would be nice

Advice to Senior ManagementMore opportunities for professionals would be a great way to grow the business

Panduit has a long way to go...

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Tinley Park, IL

ProsThe people I have worked with are excellent - smart, nice, extremely supportive and of high integrity.

ConsBenefits are terrible. Telecommuting is not permitted (except by exception) and this, in my opinion, throws a wrench into creating the kind of flexible, balanced atmosphere we seem to be seeking. The company is still very small-town minded - something that worked in the past. But to succeed in the future, we need to change that perspective into one that is more global.

Advice to Senior ManagementEmployees come first. Customers second. Without employees, we will not be able to establish and sustain customers.

    Good Place to be

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Tinley Park, IL

ProsOpportunity to advance within the organization as long as you are willing to lead and not follow. Panduit is always willing to listen to a good idea and invest where necessary.

ConsThe direction at times is not clear so its up to the employees to drive it in the right direction.

Advice to Senior ManagementClear direction and stick with a vision. Please keep in mind we are not a software company and remember your roots.

    ?????

Manager (Former Employee) Tinley Park, IL

ProsNot sure why so many people have had a poor experience at Panduit. It is not the best company out there, but it is not the worse. You read some of these reviews and you wonder why some of these people do not work there any more. Maybe it was the company but them sleves.

ConsCommunication from the Exective team could be better.

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow your people to work. Do not micro manage people.

A well paid job doesn't mean the right job

Electrical Engineer Co-op (Former Employee) Orland Park, IL

ProsI was a Engineering Co-op at Panduit during my Junior year at UIC in 2006. My experience was limited but i still was paid well. After 4 monts of service I received a pay increase which i believe i very competive. I was satisfied with my compensation, the location of the company (made it easier to comute) and was happy to work with experienced and competitive employers.

ConsI was working on a field that i didn't want to specialize.
My supervisor made it very hard for me learn and be confident with my skills. He was very strict and made it hard for me to talk to him because he will always argue with me. He did not tolerated mistakes.
In general it was very hard to learn in this place.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider training and tolerance for young and unexperienced personal
