I worked at Panduit as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I interned at this place in summer 2014. Very friendly environment, helpful people, great learning experiences is all that I can say.

    Cons

Nothing-to be very honest. Some of the plants do not have its own cafeteria which can be a bummer at times.Time in Time out system is annoying. But apart from these factors -nothing about the company is bad.

I worked at Panduit full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, matching 401k, good work/life balance in general. Great family environment and good people all around. Family atmosphere and some excellent cross-functional coworkers who are serious about their work.

    Cons

Some of the leadership seems to have no clue with product line problem areas, some of which are significant. Instead of regrouping they tend to sweep the dirt under the rug and buy their time, or blame others. This is the cancer of the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get audited by an outside consultant and carefully review the results.

I have been working at Panduit full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

I was making a fair salary and had good benefits.

    Cons

Proclaiming themselves a "family" company was hogwash. It was about profits. There was a huge component of the workforce that was dead wood. They often kept these folks during the 11 layoffs I went through. (Ten survived, one not) This environment of continuously worrying about your job was very hard to deal with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest. I was flat out lied to several times by management.

I worked for Panduit for 24 years and 10 months, but the final three years were not much fun

    I worked at Panduit

    Pros

Great company with a tremendous leader who passed away this past year. Very loyal for the first 20 years of my career there. Amazing vision and real people to work for and with.

    Cons

In the 2005 period and therafter the company lost their long time focus and the leaders at that time were only in it for themselves. Qualtiy levels decreased and accountablity was no longer visiible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to the way "Jack" ran the company in the 70's 80's and 90's. you'll see a dramatic difference right away. It's OK to make a mistake.

    Pros

good benifits, competitive salary, the opportunity for tution reimbursment
I have read alot of the reviews for Panduit let me tell you i left because of the uncertainty of having a job after moving some of the production overseas. There is political BS is in every company no matter where you go every company is looking to fill their pockets with the elusive dollar, along with that every company is looking for you to do more for the same pay.

    Cons

the company trying to be like others instead of just leading the way and having others try to be like them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let your employees know what your looking for if the employees know what is expected of them even when those expectations change moral will increase.

I have been working at Panduit

    Pros

The people I have worked with are excellent - smart, nice, extremely supportive and of high integrity.

    Cons

Benefits are terrible. Telecommuting is not permitted (except by exception) and this, in my opinion, throws a wrench into creating the kind of flexible, balanced atmosphere we seem to be seeking. The company is still very small-town minded - something that worked in the past. But to succeed in the future, we need to change that perspective into one that is more global.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees come first. Customers second. Without employees, we will not be able to establish and sustain customers.
