I have been working at Panera Bread part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Often got to take home left over goodies at the end of the night
    Flexible hours

    Cons

    Not really a fulfilling job
Pay was awful (7.50 an hour)
Management wasn't exactly the best and often said demeaning things about employees (some, not all, managers)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start treating those under you better if you don't already.

    Pros

Great environment for a first time job, there company is willing to train new people who don't have prior experience oppose to other companies .

    Cons

Language barrier sometimes you get customers who don't speak English and it's difficult to ring them up on the cash register .

I have been working at Panera Bread part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great first job, flexible hours, great for students. Fun people to work with. I genuinely loved my coworkers.

    Cons

Not a great place for moving up, most managers hate think its not worth the pay, work becomes robotic. Easy work, but monotonous. General manager comes across as very rude or entitled.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help your associates when you see a long line, not just look at them and walk away. Give your associates more motivation in the workplace opposed to just once a season around bread bash (where employee of the season sort of thing takes place, along with discussing the new products)

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - 60% discount 4 hours before and after shift.
    - Ability to grow within the company
    -Offer Raises for completing cerifications
    - Great Coworkers
    - Awesome Management
    - Good breaks

    Cons

Honestly I cant think of any at this time.. Only real con, is that your working around all this awesome food and it makes you super hungry!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe have more team building activities. One Panera I worked for did things like that and we all got along SO much better.

I have been working at Panera Bread part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fun environment, everyone is very happy, everyone acts like a family, decent pay, easy job.

    Cons

Closing is not the best, but definitely not the worst, management does not communicate very well. I was told in my interview I would be paid higher than other employees because I had 3+ years of experience, but this was not the case. I was given the same pay and when I asked about it, they acted like they had no clue what I was talking about. I would've accepted a different job offer if I knew I wouldn't be getting a higher pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please communicate thoroughly with each other and don't promise a certain pay.

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Always a different job every single day. Great food. Great opportunities. Many ways to move ahead. Changing company always growing.

    Cons

Low pay scale. Huge turnover. Anyone who wants to make the food service industry their career is disappointed with the low pay rate. Unfortunately you get what you pay for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay people what they are worth.

    Pros

Great pay, Good hours, Good discount I would highly recommend working at Panera Bread as a part time job.

I have been working at Panera Bread part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Bakersfield store - Great discounts, free pastries and specialty drinks.

Sherman Oaks - Great staff, good food, more than fair management, greater discounts, easy going environment.

    Cons

Bakersfield - Everything else. VERY bad management, biased, unfair, and disrespectful. NO hours. Scheduled maximum of 10 hours a week. New hires every two weeks, leading to a 3 page long schedule. SUPER busy and more often than not rude customers.

Sherman Oaks - May find it difficult to keep busy with how slow it is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bakersfield - Get it together. You're not children, you're adults in MANAGEMENT, it would be in your favor to act as such.

Sherman Oaks - Just keep doing what you're doing. You're representing what Panera strives to be well. :)
