    Decent but not worth it

Pizza Delivery Driver (Former Employee) Elgin, IL

ProsAs a driver you make decent money, as a line cook you learn a lot.

ConsThey put you through very tedious U-Learns which is basically online learning.
They substitute actual hands on training with U Learns and expect you to be ready to jump right in to the work

    Advice to Senior ManagementBetter pay
    Better management.
Less reliance on "U-Learns" and more on actual hands-on training.

    Bad bad bad job.

Cashier (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsIf " i was getting paid" is the only pro about working there for me . But I guess another pro is that I got free food and they didn't interview me.

ConsThe managers were unreasonable. The schedule were inconsistent . The male employees were inappropriate towards the female ones and its was just not somewhere I could stay. Plus the conditions of how to food was kept in wasn't the best.

    Advice to Senior ManagementChange managers.

    Good for temporary work.

Pizza Delivery Driver (Former Employee) San Antonio, TX

ProsMost Papa John's stores are willing to work with you in-terms of hours, so this is an ideal job for a student.
Working as a delivery driver can bring in good tips depending upon the area served.

ConsSince it is a franchise the quality of management varies widely from store to store.
Compensation is kept to a minimum, so don't expect any raises within the first year over 50c.

Advice to Senior ManagementUse compensation as a way to motivate employees to perform better.

    Fun, eventful, however...

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat co-workers, opportunity to grow, networking, fun atmosphere, easy to catch on, fun making pizzas, flexible hours

ConsLow pay, chaotic at times, some lazy co-workers, management issues, can't keep drivers to save ones life.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo the general managers boss, let the gm of the store run his or her store. Don't always try to control their actions, it causes nothing more then grief and frustration on the manager and that trickles down to the insiders and drives such ultimately leads to workers quitting, leaving the remainder workers to work even harder...for the same amount of pay.

    Kitchen Employee/Delivery Driver (Current Employee)

ProsAdvancement opportunities are available if you are willing to work at hard. Better than any job in the fast food industry.

ConsOften times management is chosen way too quickly and are not efficient at their job. Usually not enough compensation for deliver drivers.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore strict selection process for shift managers and higher pay for delivery drivers

    Educational

    Director of Operations (Current Employee)

ProsSense of community created under the correct leadership. Everyone working towards a common goal.

ConsToo many people between store operations and upper levels. The message gets lost or twisted.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo quarterly surveys from the people who run your stores on level of job satisfaction. A happy crew makes for a happy customer. Not too many happy crews in some regions.
