    Over worked and unappreciated

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsYou get to learn about the rubber industry and manufacturing and health benefits are ok.

ConsIf you aren't a manager, you are not appreciated and do not get any bonuses or perks. If you don't have a degree you will never become a manager even if you are performing the work of a manager. Expectations are way too high and the stress and aggravation isn't worth the compensation. You are only talked to if you do something wrong. Managers get invited to Angels and Ducks games paid for by the company while us normal employees just get more work handed to us. There is NO communication between departments or managers. Everyone lives in fear everyday not knowing if they will have a job tomorrow. Employees have nightmares about work and do not want to come in because the work load is crazy and our concerns are not addressed. We have been told not to take our concerns to Human Resources. Several HR employees have quit because they could no longer deal with having to fire people for no reason.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employees, they are the ones making you so much money. Keep your personal life and affairs private. Stop overworking your hard working valuable employees.

Leadership and Ethics is Obviously Absent for Parco, Inc.

    Manager (Former Employee)

ProsThe company manufactures rubber products for several major industries. Its business is very stable and profitable. The product lifecycle is usually very long and that makes for an excellent work-life-balance working there.

ConsThe company has essentially no communications. Every decision is dominated by the top executives. They perceive the communication between line workers as “non-value-added activity” and explicitly tell people not to have meetings. Most of the employees have learned to shut up in the company because voicing their opinion doesn’t go anywhere, and will only get them into trouble.

Besides lack of communication, there is a lot of fear working in every job position. The top executives don’t value human capital at all and anyone is replaceable in their eyes. If you don’t want to live in that fear, don’t come and work in Parco.

The work environment is not only dirty but also dangerous in certain work stations of the plant. The executives are hesitant to make improvements if it doesn’t improve the productivity, since it will only cost them money. The workers compensation in the company is really low in comparison to industry peers, but it doesn’t mean there are no work related injuries in the company. Most of the factory workers are Hispanic and are afraid if they report their injury, they will be fired. Hence, when those employees get injured, they take care of the injury without reporting. The company is well aware of that. Yet, they do nothing.

One last thing I would like to mention is the weird relationship between the top executives. Their relationship manipulates a lot of the politics in the company. They pay most management staff with lucrative salary hoping for obedience or they will be out. Other managers and executives sometimes do have their own ideas, yet they choose to shut up because the pay is good.

Advice to Senior ManagementEach employee has aspirations and dignity. If you treat them with respect, your business will be much better.
