    Good and Bad

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsWork has been consistent, and the company understands the need to be with family when crises happen. Time off policies are great, as long as you can find time to take a vacation.

ConsHours can be long; admin supervisory staff cares little for the growth of its employees, often taking credit for tasks and ideas their employees come up with, without acknowledging their efforts; slow to promote; admin staff are not eligible for bonuses, unless they manage to win 1 of 2 annual awards.

Advice to Senior ManagementYour administrative staff is the backbone of your company. It operates effectively, on a daily basis, with little or no acknowledgement from anyone higher on the food chain.

Large brand, but struggling to grow

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsLarge company makes moving locations around the world easy. The brand name also carries strength in some markets.

ConsThe team atmosphere is weak and senior staff members do not always work well together.

Advice to Senior ManagementCommitment to strategy and engaging all staff in that strategy would foster a better team environment.

    Neutral experience, good stepping stone.

    Analyst (Current Employee)

ProsGood internship program, but employmemt opportunities are very focused towards engineers.

ConsNot much room for growth if not an engineer or architect. The company is an older culture, very few young people work here. Not good work/life balance. Not very innovative.

Overall a very positive experience at Parsons Brinckerhoff if you happen to work for the right person. If not, well...

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat growth opportunities. If you work for a positive, forward thinking manager you are encouraged to perform and excel and are rewarded accordingly. You will continue to learn and grow as much as you are willing and interested in doing so.

ConsMany egotistical managers with lack of knowledge or experience however they seem to constantly survive all changes and get promoted to high levels of management. I am not sure how they continuously retain the worst of the group. In an earlier life I would have strongly recommended this company, but now sadly I would not recommend them to my enemy.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement is antiquated and out of touch with their employees. They believe they have cutting edge ideas but they try to implement them with old, old school senior management who do not truly understand nor desire change. Many employees are dissatisfied but will never say so directly to senior management as it is a sure fire path out the door. But trust me, they speak to each other, former & potential employees and competitors. Not good pr for PB. Senior Management should engage and listen to their non-mgmt. level employees rather than just their direct reports who are not telling the full story and often are not even in touch with their own staff.

    ...but I'm just an intern

    Intern (Current Employee)
    Los Angeles, CA

ProsPay seems reasonable, work environment is entertaining, corporate offices are great, very passionate people, the group dynamic works here, office is very ethnically diverse.

ConsIf transportation, civil, or HVAC is not your thing, this place seems really boring. Due to this internship I found out that HVAC is definitely not something I want to do. Being a mechanical engineering major, I would much rather design moving objects. Other than that, although the environment seems great here, it tends to get really quiet.
