I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I really like my job. Good pay and nice benefits. Flexible schedule. Intelligent and friendly co-workers.

    Cons

The company has had some trouble with morale after the purchase by Balfour Beatty. Now with the recent sale to WSP, there is tentative optimism that things might improve, but a lot of uncertainty as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do what it takes to attract and hang onto the best. In the four years that I've been here, I've seen many good people leave unnecessarily. Moving the bulk of the NYC staff to Amish country, PA was a huge mistake. It might have saved millions of dollars on paper, but the negative ramifications of that decision continue today.

    Pros

I have a good salary compared to other jobs in the Austin area. PTO at 16 days a year and 9 paid holidays is good.

    Cons

Leadership is lacking in some areas of the Austin office. Benefits are not as good as my last employer, but they are not bad.

I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time

    Pros

Excellent projects, wonderful people, nice offices.

    Cons

Senior management not connected to work being performed "in the trenches". Lots of dictated requirements to improve insurance rates and keep the accountants happy, but do little to help deliver services to our clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward those that deliver and perform, eliminate those that cost the company money, and develop a dedicated sales force.

Great company to work for! Good benefits, great with working around your schedule, and friendly people!
