    Good company, great people

Software Engineer (Current Employee) Arlington Heights, IL

ProsSome of the best people I've had the opportunity to work with. Very passionate workplace without a lot of egos. Tons of internal opportunities to work on may different technology stacks and challenges.

ConsLots of new way verses old way infighting. Slow to adopt new technologies or patterns. Pay is also a little low.

Advice to Senior ManagementReduce the new verses old politics and infighting. Increase developer compensation. Keep moving forward, company has a bright future.

    Top Three Life Decisions

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Arlington Heights, IL

ProsDuring the annual sales kick-off meeting, a District Sales Manager made an acceptance speech wherein she mentioned her top three best life decision's: Marrying her husband, having her children and joining Paylocity. I couldn't agree more! Paylocity has achieved what many companies can only dream of creating - A relaxed and happy atmosphere in which each employee fully believes in Paylocity's mission.

ConsAs an individual who was recruited from a company who did not believe in their own philosophy and the power of a strong work/life balance, I can't say enough wonderful thing about Paylocity!

Advice to Senior ManagementAs Paylocity continues to grow, make sure the current employees grow with it.

ConsThere is a lot of work, so if your a slacker or not good at what you do, not a good fit. Communication between departments could be better

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep it up

    A Good Company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Arlington Heights, IL

    ProsGood pay for industry
    Casual dress work environment
Some nice perks (Lunches, Free good coffee!)
Keeps employees appraised of company roadmap
    constant and consistant growth

ConsGetting much too corporate - have lost the family attitude they had replaced with a more "yessir" environment
    Staff turnover increasing
certain levels of mid-senior management are just plain bad
    lack of departmental communication (still)
The blame game is starting to flourish as the demands for more productivity has increased

Advice to Senior ManagementThose who seem the most helpful are only helping themselves, hiring "good on paper" managers is not always the best thing to do. Pay attention to the departments who demand a lot and blame everyone else for their shortcomings.

It has been a pleasure to work here.

Tech Support Specialist (Current Employee) Arlington Heights, Cook, IL

ProsCasual dress code, co-workers that are willing to assist and teach one another.

ConsThere is a lack of emphasis in intra-office communication, particularly between departments. If there were more of an emphasis on critical thinking skills and focus on internal communication, it would increase overall productivity and employee satisfaction.

A robust and rapidly expanding company. Great opportunities if you can handle the heat.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Arlington Heights, Cook, IL

Pros-The company is essentially half payroll company, half software company. On the one side, you get the peaks and valleys nature of the payroll business. On the other hand, the environment is real laid back and you are not micro-managed as long as you are sufficiently getting your work done.

-There is much room for professional growth and many skills to be learned if you have the drive

    -Game room in the building

Cons-Cross-department communication can be very frustrating as the company works through its growing pains

-Some might prefer a more professional atmosphere

-Anybody who has worked at a payroll company knows year-end is hell. Expect to work like a dog from November - February

Advice to Senior ManagementEmployee recognition employee recognition. We need more!
