    Pros

Great work environment, very laid back, relaxed dress code, For the most part everyone is friendly and helpful. very in depth job training

    Cons

some of the language used is for people unfamiliar takes getting use to. Training could be longer with on job training instead of class room setting. more direction when transiting from training to live work environment. Prefer more face to face as oppose to a portion remote, a little difficult to pick up concepts watching a computer screen with someone in your ear .

    Pros

Great Company, benefits, Co-workers. Its an amazing environment where they really care about us as employees and while the work is not always easy they do a good job at making sure that we are happy and have a good work life balance. This company actually cares about the employees and goes out of their way for us to make sure daily we have coffee and fresh fruit. They do a lot of team building events and fully take advantage of any opportunity to tell us how much they appreciate us up to and including buying us lunch. I have been working here for a few months and can truly say the environment is second to none. Paylocity is growing and a great place to get your foot in the door to a very lucrative market and gain valuable experience.

    Cons

Year end can be very busy and intimidating if payroll is not your background and this job does require the ability to multitask and be very organized. if these are strong qualities for you than you are good to go.

Year end IS difficult: we all know it. An Account Manager does difficult and very important work and we are so glad to have such an amazing Lake Mary team!

    Pros

Growing technology company. Senior management is really behind the Agile transformation that started about a year and a half ago. Friendly, helpful colleagues and not a lot of obvious politics. Good work/life balance with the opportunity to work from home twice a week. Not a lot of red tape to get the tools and technology that you need. Excellent 401k and Employee Stock Purchase Plan and twice a year bonuses. Professional Development allowance each year for training classes or conferences. Lots of business growth potential in the marketplace should make the company viable for years to come.

    Cons

While the best talent anywhere policy is great, it is sometimes hard to get used to working with remote teammates and coordinating across different time-zones etc. Occasionally work will fall into "have to get it done" instead of following true agile practices. Depending on the product and team, could be working with older technology and architecture. Some sub-par benefits, PTO time is lower than at other companies I work at (although the wfh does help offset that a bit), health insurance premiums are a little high, company paid for life insurance is less than 1x salary, and have to pay for part of own short-term disability insurance. Getting bonuses are nice, but no visibility into how they are calculated.

    Advice to Management

Keep up your commitment to happy employees = happy clients. Consider increasing the benefits to be commiserate with other Chicago area tech companies to attract more local talent. Don't let the IPO and being public now change the culture of the company (as much as you can).

    Pros

Paylocity makes you feel like they appreciate you. They give back to their employees in a good way as far as events, give back, etc. There is a fulfilling amount of positive spirit and appreciation towards the staff that makes the atmosphere enjoyable to work at. Additionally, the company is growing at a rapid pace and the opportunity for growth and promotion is promising.

    Cons

The main con of working at Paylocity is the workload. This may be due to a transition phase of growth but it seems everyone is overworked and there is just not enough time in a day to accommodate all the needs requested from the job. Organization can be dysfunctional at times and this can lead to a stressful daily experience. Rate of pay for the amount of workload is also questionable and has staff question other employment opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to put yourself in each job titles shoes. Sometimes I think management is just focused on management and does not understand the burden that is placed on some employees. The work load seems to not be considered and staff can feel abandoned. Most of the employee turn around is because staff feels they are assigned too much responsibility that is almost impossible to handle. The amount of pressure per employee can be enough to make employees go A-wall.

    Pros

There is a true team environment at Paylocity. They respect diversity in their employees. Promotion from within is standard. They have a true commitment to training and employee development. They host many employee events including free meals and snacks.

    Cons

For Account Management, the pay is just too low for the amount of work, especially at year end. They recently forced Time & Attendance support on everyone for no additional pay. I would still be there save for the subsistence level wages.

    Advice to Management

Many of the changes you put into place for 7/1/14 were exactly what was needed. The final step is to start paying people real salaries and bring in professionals to handle the clients. This is the final step needed to become world class.

    Pros

Some of the best people I've had the opportunity to work with. Very passionate workplace without a lot of egos. Tons of internal opportunities to work on may different technology stacks and challenges.

    Cons

Lots of new way verses old way infighting. Slow to adopt new technologies or patterns. Pay is also a little low.

    Advice to Management

Reduce the new verses old politics and infighting. Increase developer compensation. Keep moving forward, company has a bright future.

    Pros

During the annual sales kick-off meeting, a District Sales Manager made an acceptance speech wherein she mentioned her top three best life decision's: Marrying her husband, having her children and joining Paylocity. I couldn't agree more! Paylocity has achieved what many companies can only dream of creating - A relaxed and happy atmosphere in which each employee fully believes in Paylocity's mission.

    Cons

As an individual who was recruited from a company who did not believe in their own philosophy and the power of a strong work/life balance, I can't say enough wonderful thing about Paylocity!

    Advice to Management

As Paylocity continues to grow, make sure the current employees grow with it.
