A positive, upbeat place to work.

Graphic Designer (Current Employee) Apopka, FL

ProsGreat people, comfortable environment. I have enjoyed working at Pentair. There is a real positive, upbeat, team atmosphere. The aquatics life-support industry is fascinating.

ConsI was hired under temporary contract to work on the catalog and enjoyed my time here thoroughly. I just wish they could hire me permanently!

Advice to Senior ManagementMaybe hiring two people, part time, to share the designer/photographer position would be a good idea.

Management there for just the money.

    Buyer (Current Employee)

ProsThere is nothing pro about this company.

ConsThey will work you no matter how tired you are. If you don't meet there goal they will make you keep working until you do. Don't ever expect to spend time with your family, unless you are upper Management. You are working to make money for the company, you will never get compensated for the work you do , You will never see a raise Benefits are horrible.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees like Humans not robots. Treat your employees with respect don't treat them like garbage.

    Friendly working environment.

Design Manager (Current Employee) Delavan, WI

ProsI worked in the pump group in Wisconsin for 13 years in that time the pros I have seen are:
    friendly working environment.
    knowledgeable engineers
    realistic deadlines
    good management team

    Consdon't recognize good employees
    offshore sourcing so quality suffers
frequently they let the wrong people go in the past
    no project management
need to re-examine role of India engineering group

Advice to Senior Managementyour strongest assets are your people, reward them for a job well done a 3% raise a year does not cut it. you are close enough to Milwaukee you must pay Milwaukee wages to find and keep employees

    Life as an itern

Quality Engineering (Current Employee) Anoka, MN

ProsLots of different projects, experienced management, great intern program making sure you are comfortable and asking about your experience. Not to mention free lunches quite often and got paid to go to a Twins game

ConsBeginning was a little slow, not many projects when first starting, some assemblers on the floor don't treat the young interns with much respect

    Once was a Good Place

    Business Development Manager (Current Employee)

ProsA legacy of good people being reduced rapidly. Older employees try to give knowledge transfer

ConsOnce every product was through the QC. One in a thousand now. Internal market and product knowledge is sliding. Upper management going for image not reality. With a first to market first to fail (regularly), Luckily a lot of legacy people (retiring or going to other companies now) are still in place but are being replaced with short term youth who see the issues and also are leaving once a good CV is in place

Advice to Senior ManagementThe CEO needs to reevaluate the management below. Or, if that does not work then the board need to reevaluate the CEO. The buck stops here.
Do not blame the union or employees. Which is the current process

Good place to work large work load

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Aurora, IL

ProsGood culture, great experience and can definitely give someone proper lean training. They do gemba meetings on a daily basis to listen to ideas.,

ConsScheduling and ATP can be too optimistic. Sometimes your great ideas are passed up. Their direction on standard work or set ways are not always in place or written out.

Advice to Senior ManagementA lot of stress and work involved.
