I worked at Pentair as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

I worked there as an engineering intern, and there was never a shortage of work for me to do. It was a bit hectic at times trying to get everything done, but that's better in my mind than not having enough to do. The people I worked with were awesome as well.

    Cons

There were a few projects that were relatively unclear to me for a while, and it was hard to get more details from my manager due to how busy he also was.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Constantly changing plant management makes it very difficult for a plant to actually get traction towards improving. Each new manager may have new ideas, but if those ideas aren't given time to be realized, it leads to wasted time on many projects which never reach their full potential.

    Cross departmental tasks are excruciating.
Pay to maintain top level talent
Overall, it's been a good experience. Sturdy company to work for, although there are a significant number of subpar performers here.

    Pros

This company is continually improving and expanding as it works to stay competitive in a growing market. I have had a very positive experience here.

    Cons

I have been working at Pentair as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Pentair does a good job of getting you work immediately.
This is a lean company and has a lot of room for growth and opportunity.
There is an open door policy and everyone is always so inclusive.
Joining Pentair is like joining a family of people who have the same goal in mind.

    Cons

There was a lack of training. It was almost as if they threw you into the pool and told you to swim before actually teaching you how to swim. There was not much preparation for a new employee. It took almost a week to get my laptop and even longer to get my phone and business cards.
