    Good HR policies, individual business unit decision with no interference of other departments,

    Dont have much stability, process is slow however an excellent place to work, good colleagues

    I worked at Pentair

    Pros

    Pentair really seemed to care about growth for the benefits of its employees and stockholders, but had a good way of making its associates feel valued even though they were in the midst of evolving into a large corporation during the time I was there.

    Cons

    Work-life balance was a challenge, there seemed to be an unwritten rule about hours worked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Encourage movement internally instead of hiring outside so often.

    I have been working at Pentair full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Well run, good systems, strong on lean management and innovation, good teams, profitable company. Well diversified both from a business and geographic perspective. Strong product management company also. In high growth markets as well such as water.

    Cons

    Sometimes too bureaucratic - too much control in corporate office. They are a strong manufacturing company - but not all of their GBUs are in the manufacturing business.

    don't have so much control in corporate office - allow field offices and regions to be more autonomous to make decisions quicker

    I worked at Pentair as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

    Pentair has a number of processes that provide a good learning experience for any new engineer to the game. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a good job in manufacturing. All the people, from the factory operators all the way up to management, are nice approachable people, who are willing to help you and production in any way they can.

    Cons

    The downside to working in a plant that is definitely process advanced is that you will work at other places and realize how good you had it at Pentair. On the other side, it provides a good reference from systems and processes to implement anywhere you work forthcoming.

    I worked in the pump group in Wisconsin for 13 years in that time the pros I have seen are:
    friendly working environment.
    knowledgeable engineers
    realistic deadlines
    good management team

    Cons

    don't recognize good employees
    offshore sourcing so quality suffers
    frequently they let the wrong people go in the past
    no project management
    need to re-examine role of India engineering group

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    your strongest assets are your people, reward them for a job well done a 3% raise a year does not cut it. you are close enough to Milwaukee you must pay Milwaukee wages to find and keep employees
