I have been working at Pentair full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

After meging from Tyco retained job function.

    Cons

Don't care for employees or expertise. Hostile enviroment. low class managers. Manage by Intimidation and Threats of closing the plant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop treating people like objects and treat them with respect.
Monitoring bathroom visit and removing acces to phones only shows lacks of enforcing unjustified policies. HR should look into fair treatment of employees and stop supporting unnecessary changes to policies that only affect the morale of the workrs that already been treated like slaves.
Management is alway excemp themselves off any company policy and they should me measured the same way as production workers,

I have been working at Pentair as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Great people, comfortable environment. I have enjoyed working at Pentair. There is a real positive, upbeat, team atmosphere. The aquatics life-support industry is fascinating.

    Cons

I was hired under temporary contract to work on the catalog and enjoyed my time here thoroughly. I just wish they could hire me permanently!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe hiring two people, part time, to share the designer/photographer position would be a good idea.

    Pros

There is nothing pro about this company.

    Cons

They will work you no matter how tired you are. If you don't meet there goal they will make you keep working until you do. Don't ever expect to spend time with your family, unless you are upper Management. You are working to make money for the company, you will never get compensated for the work you do , You will never see a raise Benefits are horrible.

Current Employee - Business Development Manager

I have been working at Pentair full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

A legacy of good people being reduced rapidly. Older employees try to give knowledge transfer

    Cons

Once every product was through the QC. One in a thousand now. Internal market and product knowledge is sliding. Upper management going for image not reality. With a first to market first to fail (regularly), Luckily a lot of legacy people (retiring or going to other companies now) are still in place but are being replaced with short term youth who see the issues and also are leaving once a good CV is in place

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The CEO needs to reevaluate the management below. Or, if that does not work then the board need to reevaluate the CEO. The buck stops here.
Do not blame the union or employees. Which is the current process
