I have been working at Peoplefluent full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Charles provides a solid innovative vision for HR software
Immediate management is great. They successfully walk a tight line between micro-feature requests while still pushing strategic improvement.
Teams are great. Bright and fun people to be around. Self-improvement and team-oriented attitudes are deeply ingrained.
Work scope is engaging and stimulating. Excellent learning in what it takes to maintain and improve large software with large customer bases.

    Cons

Company vision is watered down (and sometimes non-existent) in work items that make it to execution staff. Not sure at what level this happens, but there is definitely a disconnect.
Road map is, for the most part but not in all cases, entirely client-request driven (at a small feature level) and lacks strategic initiatives.
PM department lacks resources and has the strange position of having priority decision making authority at the sprint level, yet lacks responsibility for delivery.
HR drags their feet. Salaries are barely in the competitive range.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure the vision survives down to execution so the staff is working toward the correct goal.
Dedicate more (preferably the larger portion) of road maps towards strategic improvements
Hire more PM/Analysts. Move Scrum Product Owner role to engineering so the priority decision-maker also has delivery responsibility.

    Pros

I wanted to be part of a leading organization and that is what PeopleFluent is. The people who work here are wonderful; intelligent, ambitious, motivated and care about their employees. PeopleFluent invests a lot in their training and development, which helps with personal and professional growth. Working for PeopleFluent has pushed me to work harder than I ever have in my life and PeopleFluent is quick reward their employees for their hard work.

    Cons

Multiple Entities makes it confusing at times. Their benefits are not great

I worked at Peoplefluent as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

    Great co-workers and supervisors.
Plenty of tasks and projects to work on.
    Innovative work environment.
    Cutting-edge products.

    Cons

For a company who's core business is HR related, it has one of the worst HR departments I've ever worked for. PF had a couple of hiring rounds where contractors were hired with the promise that FT status was obtainable after six months of contracting. For some contractors it took 8 to 10 months to get offered FT. For the remaining contractors, no opportunities were presented and not a word from HR as to why. I consider this a lack of integrity of that department, and unfortunately it reflects on the company as a whole.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep hiring the great talent you've been hiring.

    Pros

Good work/life balance. Company believes in using the latest technology and IT department in general is very on-top of things. Outlook looks positive at the moment - I couldn't say that a few months ago...

    Cons

Not much room for career advancement. Not matching 401k kinda stinks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work towards product integration and cohesiveness of product is encouraging. Keep up the good work...

I have been working at Peoplefluent full-time

    Pros

There were definitely some growing pains when the company was formed out of the old Peopleclick and Authoria organizations... well, "growing pains" is probably understating it. But the last 18 months have been tremendous and I am hugely optimistic for the future of the company and the products.

    More pros:
    - Location is terrific - downtown Raleigh is great.
    - Some of the smartest and best people I've ever known have been or are employees here.
    - The products really are good and can do good things for customers.
    - Company is not afraid to invest in its products when it sees a market need it can fill.
    - Company is ready to embrace innovative ideas as we try to bring this collection of products together.

    Cons

No 401k match - this NEEDS to come back. You will begin to lose people over this.
Internal politicking sometimes feels a bit childish, but fortunately isn't that widespread.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Choose your strategy and communicate it thoroughly and consistently to every single person. Your employees deeply want to make this company a success and will follow you with eagerness.

    Pros

HCM industry is currently going through significant change. As a privately held company we have a great opportunity to seize market share and set the technological pace for the industry.

    Cons

Would like to see the company introduce a matching 401K plan and provide more transparency about our stock option program.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

New CEO - Jeff Carr has recently held company-wide all hands meetings to convey the future vision and direction of the company. Senior leadership commitment to on-going communications is greatly appreciated.
