I worked at Pepsi Bottling full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Autonomy, benefits, flexibility. In the past I have referred friends to this company but cannot do so anymore. I loved this job before the games of multiple managers looking to jump from intern to senior management started to walk in and out. There is a serious lack of stability. Only the college recruits get a serious look at advancement

    Cons

Work life balance, inability to advance, continuing to take small benefits and perks from employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand who made you...the little guys. Quit screwing your small stores and catering to the large chains.

I have been working at Pepsi Bottling full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits, community involvement, part of something big. There is plenty of room for growth and to bring growth. Seem to care about surrounding communities.

    Cons

Understaffed on the CSD plant level, unorganized. Revolving door. Claim to be diversified but then have segregated groups working within the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate, add more staff and organize. Management could add more staff to take care of the business. Most of the weight is carried on the shoulders of a few.

I worked at Pepsi Bottling full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Great learning experience; I felt like i gained 6 years of experience in 3
    - Good metrics; I was able to use data to hold my team accountable
    - Solid policies and resources

    Cons

    - Long hours, and roles that keep expanding with titles that keep shrinking
    - Competitive across the HR community; not a big sense of commrodery
    - Outdated technology; I didn't have a smart phone but had to use a Nextel

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To drive retention in HR , rotate people into a mixutre of Generalist and Specialist roles to prevent the generalist from getting burned out. Do more to drive culture of work/life balance and if that's not an option, help add perks that make the work hours a bit easier.

I have been working at Pepsi Bottling full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Decent pay, decent health benefits, job security if you're willing to give your life to the company.

    Cons

Zero work/life balance, low pay for the hours worked, poor communication between senior and middle management, very little advancement opportunity without a college degree regardless of success in current role.

I worked at Pepsi Bottling full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Decent pay
     Decent benefits
    Good coworkers
Given the tools and training to do your job
    Well known company brand

    Cons

Management who is disconnected from the front line employees
    Work/life balance is awful
    Very political
No room to advance unless you are someones friend/relative
Not paid for most of your overtime, but expected to work it anyway

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that upper management/supervisors aren't who are merchandising/selling/delivering your product, it's your front line employees. Supervisors are inept at best.

    Pros

*Repetitive work (if you hate change).
    *Health benefits from day 1.

*Management is top-heavy, if you're not a supervisor forget about having your voice heard.
*No room for advancement without the right connections.
*Staff is never recognized so all employees seem bitter or detached from company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Relax, listen to your employees, manage people don't herd them like sheep.
