I have been working at PepsiCo

    Pros

I had lots of opportunities for advancement and i saw many people get promoted. You will likely experience the same if thats what you want but if you love your current role and do it well then you can stay and still get mini raises every year.

Benefits are inline with most large companies. Some probably depend on your role but can include internet, cellphone, home line, and even car. Most managers are also understanding on AMEX spending as long as it is reasonable.

PepsiCo usually you'll go to at least one large meeting a year and you can expect to be treated very well while you are there. Nice hotels, plenty of food... sooooo much food, fun group activities and if you are the type who likes to go out and party after, you will find that MANY will join you.

    Cons

With so many being promoted many times positions don't get filled for months. There is a hiring freeze every year it seems which means they can't hire for open positions so, for example, you might not have a manager for months on end. There is a re-org at least every few years. Many times it just means wrong place wrong time. Because of these re-orgs many end up picking up the slack of those who have left. You are expected to work really hard. Year after year the goals seem unattainable but if you work hard they usually are (attainable) if you work hard enough.

depending on your manager you might be asked to, essentially, be on call at all hours which can make it hard for work life balance. However, if you are great at time management you can find that balance.

Training can be great or completely non existent depending on many variables. If you push for help you will almost always get it in some form... just not always what you might have been expecting or needed.

Overall this company isn't for everyone but if you fit in with the work hard culture then it might be perfect for you. Despite some rough times I had enough great moments to still have a great feeling towards the company. It is what you make it!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to have management spots filled and maintained for at least a couple of years. Its important for a manager to have time to get to know the people they manage and not just be looking to do enough to be promoted again. It's frustrating to have to explain your business and methods year after year plus learn how their expectations/ values are different from your last manager so you can adjust to please them.

Frito Lay Sanitation Technician. Good pay for the type of work, but it is a factory

I have been working at PepsiCo part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The pay was good, and management was very approachable and treated you with respect. The worst part of the job was just the repetition and listening to fellow employees complain. It is a dirty job, but considering you're making like $17 to clean machines, its worth it.

    Cons

Factory work is dull, but its really what you make it. Some people are never happy regardless of the job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Nothing really
