    Great Company to Work For!

    Business Development Representative (Current Employee)
    Ashburn, VA

ProsGreat Work/Life Balance. Great People. Casual Work Environment. Fun Activities to include 4 by 4's. Work From Home Opportunities. Travel Occasionally. Company has increased their market share incredibly in last 10 years and has great backing by Lexmark.

Conscommute is long and salary is not as high as it should be for the area.

Perceptive's technology is artfully designed and works across platforms. It is easily integrated with other systems.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat teamwork and internal support. The technical support teams are fantastic and very easy to coordinate. The people go above and beyond for each other.

ConsIf you can't follow the right college sports team you might as well forget talking to anyone in the office. And, not everyone wants to play dodgeball.

Advice to Senior ManagementOpen up to new thoughts.

    Great place to work

    Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsGreat environment, friendly and helpful colleagues, good benefits, solid pay. Lots of promotions from within.

ConsLosing some of its fun and unique culture due to Lexmark. Not a huge deal, but I know it irks some of the senior people here for 5+ years.

Advice to Senior ManagementBring back the things that separate Perceptive from other companies or you will lose some very talented people.

    Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
    Shawnee, KS

ProsPerceptive Software offers a great work/life balance, fair wage, good management, and plenty of advancement opportunity. It continues to be one of the best places to work in Kansas City.

ConsThe culture seems to be melting away little by little ever since being acquired by Lexmark.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember where you came from.

A positive, rewarding place to grow your skills and enjoy those you work with

    Program Readiness Professional (Current Employee)
    Shawnee, KS

ProsThe overall company culture is relaxed and casual. People are treated as adults unless they give reason not to be.

ConsCompensation could be better. There is a bit of a clique-ish mentality in middle management that is somewhat difficult to crack

Advice to Senior ManagementAccelerate the construction of new work space. The building is bursting at the seams. Continue to cut the dead weight that has been holding back some of the departments and let the people who are creative, talented and fantastic at what they do become the next generation of leaders that can take the customer focus of Perceptive and grow it.

Not just for the newly graduated

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Shawnee, KS

    ProsPositive environment
    Place for growth and learning
    Competitive pay
    Flex scheduling
Better than the many other places I have worked in my life. I don't understand the hate some people who are no longer here show. Just grow up and move on like I have done with prior employers.

ConsMy fat butt can't get up speed on the slide. Seriously I really like it here and haven't found a lot of cons. You are learning their program so your skills don't transfer to other places really well.

    Great place to work.

    Software Engineer (Former Employee)
    Shawnee, KS

ProsRelaxed environment with challenging problems. Small company with lots of opportunities where you can find a project that best suits your interests. You can work on lower levels of implementation, or higher level business logic. Great developers with lots of knowledge, especially valuable for a young developer to learn what software development is about, I learned a lot.

ConsSalary scale relatively low compared to the local competitors, this got fixed in recent years. Kansas. Parties can be conceived as cons but mostly a fun, family atmosphere.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work. Get rid of the people that do not contribute. Keep focus on what made this company successful.

Great place to work with great leadership.

    Inside Sales Representative (Current Employee)
    Shawnee, KS

ProsBenefits, leadership, team meetings, doughnuts/bagels on casual fridays, company wide trips to amusement parks, free yoga lessons/weightlifing and massage therapists, takes care of employees more than any other place i've worked.

ConsNot many cons, a few minor things that aren't even worth mentioning.

Advice to Senior ManagementThese Executives really know what they are doing. This company was nothing 10 years ago. Scott Coons along with Tim Helton and Cary DeCamp have taken this company to a whole nother level.
