I worked at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible shifts, higher pay, The People, The Food, French Silk Pie, Chicken Tender Melt, Excuse to get out of holidays with relatives...

    Cons

The pay, the hours, the people, holiday work, Christmas away from home, recent bankruptcy leaves the management unsteady.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let a bigger company with some assets purchase this "Once Great" restaurant company so there can once again be stability in the ranks. No body willing to take any bullets because everyone's job is at risk...

I have been working at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The hours were very flexible and can make quite a considerable amount off of regulars and on the weekend mornings.

    Cons

The customer is always right so no matter what you say or do, if the customer says you are wrong you ARE wrong and that is that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the employees sometimes they may know how to handle a certain situation because they have delt with a similar one like that before

I have been working at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Really not a good reason to work here to be honest poor team work in Davenport Florida unorganized

    Cons

Well multitasking as in washing dishes and busing tables cleaning rest rooms at the same time unirrelevant for one person

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand employees more ask them are they alright and don't take advantage of them well that's what they did to me in Davenport and more sanitizing as cleaning the work place better..oh good food

I worked at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great money, Good hours, opportunities for SMALL advancements (host to server or server to trainer). Turnover was low because most of the management was professional and courteous.

    Cons

After training a new server she became my manager in 3 weeks. Eventually she was fired and arrested for stealing from the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is necessary for any company to function, but it needs to be qualified management

    Pros

If you love people this is one of the best places to work. They always have something entertaining going on there. Great fun people to work with.

    Cons

Sometimes the rush hour can be overwhelming and if you're busy at work and you have an appointment that same day there is a high chance you will miss that appointment.

I have been working at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Perkins is a great place to work for college students. Tips, short hours, and also usually the available times are nights and weekends, as the morning crew are lifers.

    Cons

It is basically a fast food joint with servers. You will be expected to take on many tables at a time, and move fast. It can be very stressful, but once you get the hang of it, you can make a lot in tips.

I worked at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery

    Pros

fun environment laid back Training is alright there are not many perks no paid breaks but at least free pankckes

    Cons

schedualing sucks get your schedual one or two days before work managment sits on their but and eats while on the clock, there shouldn't be so many managers different policies with different managers makes it complicated to do your job. For instance I was writain up for something that happened while on the shift before mine. (how was i supposed to know tha that had happened)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better training for managers and oh yeah stop closing stores so not everyone has to share shifts

I worked at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Tips, server culture, fast-paced energetic environment, when you're done you're done - unlike a corporate desk job - you get to go home and be done.

    Cons

long hours, pissy customers, unstable income, little respect, loud, physical, hot, tiring, and at my location - not very lucrative.
