    Pros

Strong leadership, disciplined, didn't panic as many do today

    Cons

Sometimes too conservative, executives did little to develop and reward staff, those in the Ivory Tower did very well when Dell purchased them, the rest watched their jobs go to India

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold the course, believe in the product, people and processes. Ignore the stock market

    Pros

Loved woking for the Navy in DC.

    Cons

Employees not given merit for experience, if you had a degree and new out of college...you were pushed to the top. Those who worked there over 5 years and no degree were pushed aside and ignored. Glad I got out when I did, the Supv. I had got a taste of his own medicine. He was removed from his Project Management position, replaced by a female. What goes around, comes around I say.

    Pros

Work life balance is great. We have a world class gym on site. The opportunities for various projects which helps one gain experience is great.

    Cons

The salary raises is not that constant and great. Perot pays lower than most of its competitors. Their benefits are great though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Benchmark yourself with other competitors so you can retain great talent. There is so much competiotion out there for outstanding individuals.

Former Employee - Desktop Support Specialist in Boise, ID

    Pros

I worked as a desktop support for Perot to a local company. I believe my wages were fair and my boss was great.

    Cons

I felt that there was zero chance of COL raises or even raises due to performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

COL raises are always nice. You can't keep paying people the same amount even after working there for a while and providing excellent work. That just makes people leave.

Current Employee - Engineer in Dallas, TX

    Pros

I feel the career paths are not well defined at Perot but the opportunities exist if you are looking for them. The company is growing and creating lots of new roles as it evolves. Overall a great place to work with much better benefits after the Dell acquisition.

    Cons

Not a lot of transparency on job titles and upper management decision making.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overall a good job by management. Sometimes I feel that we push a lot of work offshore even when it doesn't make sense.

    - Array of industries to work with (Healthcare, Finance, Government, Energy, Telecoms)

    Cons

    - Large variance of caliber inside the organization, possibly related to network effects
    - Health and 401(k) benefits were becoming less attractive, but they might now be different after Dell bought it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The large pool of commodity MCSE-type developers should be complemented with a strong build-up of experts from the Open Source community to stay competitive in the DC space.
