I have been working at PetSmart part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great manager all 4 years I have worked here
    - Great pay for a first/college job
    - Fun coworkers
    - You get 30% off coupons 4 times a year up to like a 300$ purchase, stock up

    Cons

    - Hard work (don't expect an easy job)
    - In the Petshotel you have to work holidays/ no way to get holidays off
    - After Obama care I couldn't do as many hours because they didn't want to give me benefits, but I don't want benefits, I was fine working 40 + hours with only part time benefits (which includes a stock plan)...this is more of an Obamacare issue though.

I worked at PetSmart part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very easy entry level jobs in retail. They give you a lot of training (paid) and most managers are pretty cool. Great PTO and health benefits.

    Cons

The pay for beginning management in retail is somewhere between $10 and $12 an hour. Really? That's pretty low.

I have been working at PetSmart full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

the commission rate is pretty high, and they offer many more benefits than any self-owned grooming shop ever could.

    Cons

sometimes things are focused too much on selling rather than the quality of the work or the benefit to the pet

I have been working at PetSmart part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you love animals this is the best place for you to work at. I work in the Pets Hotel so I see hundreds of dogs a month and I love each of them. The animals that are left in our care are generally the nicest most loving pets around.

    Cons

Well the cons are the Pay isn't all that great. I know managers that have been with the company for years that can barely afford to live in the city on a single jobs paycheck. Leadership is kind of hit or miss I can't speak about the Core side but I hear different things from different People.

I worked at PetSmart part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Working at petsmart is awesome, good company if you looking for a part-time job. You can actually move up with hard work and dedication.

    Cons

More hours for their new employees and their old fashion way of thinking as far as you tattoo's and how they can't be visible are just ridiculous.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Full-time employment for all.

I have been working at PetSmart part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

This job is the best job I ever had. I work in the pethotel and if you love dogs this is the job to have everyone is very nice I love my co-workers and my managers. There is never any kind of hostility in the work environment.

    Cons

The only con is that the pay is not that much starting out, but if your willing to work its not that hard to get promoted.

I worked at PetSmart full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

As a manager I was well trained. Since this retail store only consist of one type of consumer it is much easier to manage. Every time a new policy or procedure is rolled out, there is training for existing staff.

    Cons

Hours can range and you will need to work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
