    Pros

Stable employment, means you won't get fired, but you won't get too far without a strong patronage. Nowadays, that means someone from the ruling party.

    Cons

Harassment is common, and is usual to turn a blind eye. Sometimes, the offender falls upward, i.e. gets a promotion.

    Advice to Management

Look atfter your employees, dont let harassers get things their way. Fire'em! For God's sake

    Pros

    _ Job stability _ Salary _ Work-life balance

    Cons

_ Too much political influence. Federal government interferes a lot in strategical decisions compromising efficiency. _ Not much room for initiative. Excessive control of decision making and processes. _ Excessive large organizational structure. Unnecessary managerial positions affect agility. _ Board and managerial positions are political nominations dependent on whatever political party is in charge. Usually executives don't have any background in the oil and energy industry.

    Advice to Management

_ Less influence from politicians and lobbies. _ Reduce organizational structure. _ Adopt meritocracy as a mean to career development.

    Pros

At Petrobras, you get a lot of trainning, there are a lot of perks. You know you can have a long career there. People are nice there too.

    Cons

As a Software Engineer in a non Software Company, you have more to guarantee that the systems are working well for users (people that actually make the money) than to create new tools. Too many times you are learning about new software bought by Company, too few you are creating new software.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Work/personal life balance. Start early and leave early invariably.

    Cons

Doesn't have a design and software development culture. Very bureaucratic. People give more importance to indicators than to actually delivering quality projects. Employee/contract staff dichotomy.

    Advice to Management

Change the way productivity is evaluated. Numbers and indicators don't say everything. People know how to get their way through them and the company suffers from it. Badly executed projects and lazy professionals that don't feel motivated to perform good work.
