    Pros

Excellent introduction to corporate america and pharmaceuticals in general. Great opportunity to learn about various aspects of their IT department. There were weekly meetings to learn about management's role at the company, and how to succeed at Pfizer in the long term.

    Cons

You would meet with your manager weekly to discuss projects and goals, more interaction would have been beneficial. Assigned one project, should of been given more projects.

    Advice to Management

Strengthen student worker program, and begin to offer full time positions to best interns after completion of internships.

    Pros

I enjoyed the people, and there was plenty of opportunity to network and learn about all the facets of the company. The atmosphere was mostly informal, and I always felt my effort was appreciated. The on-boarding and training was satisfactory, and addressed all the hazards I would face adequately.

    Cons

The company feels very large and compartmentalized. If you want to see other business units as an intern, you need to put forth effort and speak out to make it happen. Especially interning in the sciences, you will never speak to anyone from the business side unless you go well out of your way to network.

    Pros

Competitive Salary, health benefits, given more vacation the longer you stay with the company. Opportunity to do secondments in other departments (if your manager approves)

    Cons

Colleagues are let go often, the usual unstable pharmaceutical business issues. Depending on your level 15-20% of your salary is held back and if you perform well it's given to you as a "bonus". However, if you do well, and the company performs well then you get your % plus a little extra.

    Pros

Pay and benefits are all you could ask for, and the company does a lot for the local and global communities. Most of all, I really appreciate my amazing co-workers, who care about what they do and are committed to delivering new medicines to patients. The company does a great job of keeping people focused on what's important and tries to make it easier to get your work done.

    Cons

Having said that, it's a really big company, so it CAN be hard to get things done sometimes. It's also been difficult to see so many of my coworkers lose their jobs. Job security hasn't been great in recent years.
