Former Employee – worked at Pfizer as an intern for less than a year

ProsStaff was very friendly at the Pfizer Health and Wellness Center. The fitness center that I worked in was well-maintained, gym equipment was usable with permission, and dietary regimens of various clients under my supervisor, Anthony Angelo Ricci, was performed.

ConsThere were no cons during my experience at Pfizer Inc.

Groton, CT

Former Employee – worked at Pfizer as a contractor for more than 8 years

ProsThe people chosen for my team were almost entirely apolitical, technically excellent, and focused on the goals of the project. Almost every technical meeting we had, someone would bring the question(s) with which we were wrangling back to "...so how does this benefit the customer?" Our manager was very smart, very savvy at working the organization above him, and took completely to heart the managers' job of being an umbrella for everything that "rolls downhill," so as to keep the team focused and motivated. A dream team.

ConsThe team has since been disbanded, and while the project has been moved into "Maintenance Mode," it is still being rolled out to new locations. Sponsor and manager were let go, most of the team members have either left the company or are in new roles over which they are far less satisfied.

Advice to Senior ManagementBespoke software can, in fact, be a competitive advantage.

Prossolid company, great support with metrics and promotional materials, good managers and people

Conslayoffs happen just about every year, ways of ranking/rating employees change continuously so its hard to keep up with what you are being measured against

Kalamazoo, MI

Former Employee – worked at Pfizer full-time for more than 8 years

ProsThe opportunity for advancement and educational reimbursement program create an atmosphere of ever improving oneself to offer each employee and the company a better future.

ConsThe schedule was very difficult to sustain. At times we were required to work 19 days at a stretch without a day off. We would then be given one day off and return to work the following day. The opportunities for overtime pay were excellent but no time to enjoy life or family.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement should be more sensitive to the needs of all employees. Many people have a need or desire to work a lot of overtime while others do not. Have options for employees who would rather work a normal schedule.
