I worked at PhaseOne Communications full-time

    Pros

    Interesting work
    Great coworkers
    Middle-management is great
    Nice location
Good culture, but this is fading quickly

    Cons

    Bad management practices
    Poor transparency
Implements superficial changes to appease employee
    Senior management/executives are oblivious
Company is top heavy, restricting career opportunities
Grew too quickly...tried to become a "big player" too hard

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees or they will leave (if they haven't already)

The most oppressive and depressing place I have ever worked.

I have been working at PhaseOne Communications

    Pros

Pay is fair but don't count on a raise of any substance.
    Nice office space.
Lots of smart and nice people to work with. (Not counting most of exec team)

    Cons

Management is not connected to whats going on.
Continuing to hear from colleagues that they plan on quitting because they hate their job.
Benefits get reduced as revenue gets higher.
Your suggestion does not matter unless you are a part of a small group of execs.
Expected to work outrageous hours without regard to family or your personal life.
HR and Senior managements word means nothing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit pretending you have it figured out and read some current books on how to motivate and retain employees. Make some changes quickly because there are 5 people I know of that are about to quit.
