Current Employee - Business Development & Planning Analyst in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic)

I have been working at Philip Morris International full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Work life balance can be good in the right department and supervisor, many opportunities to move across functions and develop your career fast, slightly above average salaries and benefits for consumer goods companies in the country, relaxed and friendly office environment in general.

    Cons

Cigarette industry carries a stigma, year end performance evaluation "discussions" are kind of pointless, a bad year can really set you back even after several good ones, don't get on the wrong side of the guys on the top, traditional business model not very aligned with current trends weakens learning experience (marketing in special).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve communication regarding payscale improvement potential in order to better know what to expect (like consulting companies do)
