I have been working at Philips Healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

My team, co-workers, are awesome. We have each other's backs and it feels like family. I trust my manager and dotted line manager. Great team work.

    Cons

Poor quality coming out of the factory causes rework and never ending issues with customers and cumbersome processes to follow. Admit when there is a problem and quit avoiding the truth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a handle on quality and reduce the processes to follow.

    Pros

Fast paced and challenging. Some interesting people to get to know in the department, lots of changes being made

    Cons

Department is being reorganized and alos outsourced as well. Accounts are being shuffled around frequently hard to get settled with the portfolio. Changes in the department direction not clearly defined.

    I worked at Philips Healthcare

    Pros

    Passion of employees
A brand that could be great
    Broad portfolio of solutions

    Cons

Senior leadership chasing the short term at the expense of long term. Destroying culture, cost cutting is not a growth strategy and can have devastating impact on quality, morale and long term viability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be courageous and strategic to be the best for customers and patients and profits will follow. Be ruled by chasing artificial wall street expectations and continue to languish until they move on to another investment.

I worked at Philips Healthcare as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The training Philips provided was pretty good in comparison to other companies. On the whole, management is friendly and understanding of work life balance.

    Cons

Working in a call center environment is never fun. There is also a high turnover rate for that reason, which can sap moral at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't take advantage of temporary employees. Offer them at least a living wage. While this may not be the most glorious job in the world, it's certainly an important one to the home healthcare portion of your business, so please treat your employees with respect.

    Pros

Work-life balance, great people, good benefits

    Cons

Not a great training system, too many overarching processes that are hard to follow and understand, lack of management and leadership, you are very much on your own. Also a hard time for the company, heard it better before.

    Pros

    Nice Benefits and Pay
    Culture
    Values
    Telecommute
    Nice facilities

    Cons

Too much work is placed on you with no compensation
When processes are changed upper management gets the credit/bonuses but when it falls apart they blame it on those who are following the process.
Upper Management knows nothing about the day-day task and acts as if we don't even exist
Can be too clicky, if you're not with the "cool kids" consider yourself on the chopping block

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to the people at the "bottom" who bust their butts to make your numbers and bonus check fat!
