    I have been working at Philips Healthcare full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Lots of resources. They have given me all the hardware I have asked for that is relevant to my job (software engineer). Smart people. Good local management.

    Cons

    Your bonus is tied to corporate performance, not just your BU or product line. This means no matter how well you do, you may not get anything due to some other unit screwing up. On the plus side, management told us no bonuses, but then fought for us and corporate agreed to give us at least a fraction so it wasn't a total loss.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Don't just talk big picture all the time. That's useful sometimes and more so to investors, but we the grunts want to hear about specific things that affect us day to day. That will make us more eager to excel.

    I worked at Philips Healthcare full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Support from the management to take risk, trust employees to take charge of the situation/crisis/issues etc. Competitive salary; Work-life balance; Excellent 401K matching - 50% up to 6% of base salary + 4% additional. a variety of choices for Healthcare insurance plans; employer sponsored life insurance, optional life insurance coverage at a nominal charge; Fitness gym available, fitness reimbursement;

    Cons

    No employee stock bonus; Salaries could have been a little bit better; Corporate involvement could slow things down; Too much corporate control over business supporting functions - such as IT, finance, procurement functions, etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Advice to senior Royal Philips leadership - Please provide a guidance frameworks for the business groups on how to run and let the business groups take in-charge of their territory - How they manage their R&D funds, IT tools, supply chain/engineering support functions etc.; Consolidation of business systems to one-tool and one-process will jeopardize the businesses; low performers might step up a bit; however this could be a huge impact for high performers with a very lean operating model;

    Pros

    Philips is a strong, fare and solid organization with business all over the world. Good place to work with reasonable salaries and stability. Has space for growth and is going through positive transformation.

    Cons

    Philips is a Dutch organization and carries lots of these culture on its own culture. It is serious and truthful organization, but very slow on decision and reactive to new approaches.
