    Pros

The discount is AWESOME and the products are BOMB. The hours are flexible and the dress code is pretty comfy.

    Cons

HORRIBLE store management, no room for growth unless you know someone or come from outside the company.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. There are employees working for you that would LOVE to stay with the company but, if you're part-time, it is very difficult to progress.

    Pros

Great customers, good discount, wonderful fellow associates. Training system is well done. Comfortable uniform, With the right management it can be a great place to work... But it's rare.

    Cons

Unpredictable shifts, lots of flex shifts. Be prepared to supply your own note pads, and water bottles. Only get your schedule one week at a time, so no ability to make plans. Time off requests require reasons (detailed) and a minimum of two weeks notice. Trading shifts requires permission from the manager, including who you can trade with. Plan on very few shifts during the week, but count on working both days of the weekend and then getting sent home after 3 hours because they have overstaffed. Hard work, carrying chairs up ladders is not a 2 man job. Lots of floor mopping and toilet scrubbing. It's all about making conversion vs sales. Be prepared to lots of on the job "homework" while trying to make sales... Scavenger hunts, pop quizzes and lots and lots of role play. Low pay, no incentive for hard work - rewards consist of a box of bendy straws for being flexible! Or t-shirts that they hand out that you can't wear to work. No chance for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers who are interested in running a successful business, and not finding jobs for all their family and friends. When a store suddenly starts experiencing high turnover - look into why. Treat people with respect and dignity and appreciate loyalty and honesty. Small minded, micromanagement does not allow for people to actually do the job of building relationships with customers who want great customer service when they are constantly watched and criticized. Maybe a few folks from head office would have their eyes opened if they spent some time in the trenches and saw how their "valued associates" are treated.

    Pros

A fun atmosphere in the store and most managers offer flexible scheduling. A good discount (25%) on merchandise. Coworkers are friendly.

    Cons

Pay is very low. Incredibly high pressure put on employees to get customers to open credit cards. Heavy items to load into vehicles.

    Advice to Management

Higher pay for employees, especially those who are long-term and do a good job.

    Pros

lucky to have great supervisors that try to work with work/life balance, management seems to want to be helpful, although its not always possible

    Cons

needed a different shift but wasn't available at time, the 12 hour weekend shift is not very realistic when it comes to a normal family life

    Advice to Management

a ten hour, four day a week schedule, would accomplish the same goals and would not be as imposing on a normal life. the fact that no one will even entertain this idea is very off putting.

    Pros

25% discount on anything in store, good first time experience, flexible schedules for college students

    Cons

No schedule stability whatsoever, getting called in early frequently, heavy workload, sales associates are underpaid for how much work they are expected to do, pressure on sales associates to single- handedly maintain store sales and conversion rates with little to no help, having to push the credit card on every customer

    Advice to Management

Help associates to maintain sales goals that you set for them, and offer a little more schedule stability.

    Pros

Coworkers are awesome people to work with and the sales leads are great too. Discount is decent and locations are easily accessible. The store overall is pretty well-organized in terms of how shipped/reserve orders are done. Training is good and coworkers/sales leads are really helpful when you're new.

    Cons

Managers often didn't work well together and it affected the environment. Store manager did not let employees swap shifts unless talking to her beforehand and getting approval. Very difficult to work with the passive aggressiveness of some of the managers. They would make rude remarks and behave inappropriately even on the store floor. It was hard to approach them. Scheduling can be a mess with some weeks getting mostly on-call shifts and others with over 25 hours just for a PT job. It is near impossible to get enough hours if you want this to be a full-time job.

    Advice to Management

Give more flexibility for employees to swap shifts with one another. Communicate better with other managers. Behave more professionally towards employees on and off the floor.
