    OK place to work.

    Software Engineer (Former Employee)
    Boulder, CO

ProsWork life balance was good. The company gives more time off than any company I have worked for. Management was pretty hands off most of the time.

ConsLayoffs every year. The Boulder office has some of the most anti social people you will ever meet.

ProsDecently dynamic group of people running the organization. There are the usual employee engagement initiatives. Nothing extraordinary about the company.

    ConsNothing overly negative to add.

Company is eager to evolve and is open to new ideas

    Manager (Former Employee)
    Stamford, CT

ProsLong standing and trusted brand, solid cash flow, ethical in business. Seek roles in business sectors that reflect strategic direction for the company and you'll do well.

ConsStill very tied to paper mail services and solutions. Old guard is rotating out, which should help accelerate evolution

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep that sense of urgency on the evolution. Don't hesitate to drop programs that aren't relevant to new direction.

Most of the executives were not skilled in building teams

    Account Manager (Former Employee)
    Chicago, IL

ProsAbility to move up the ladder. Managers working well with large profile customers can promote quickly alongside the Client's growth.

ConsExecutives had new initiatives every month and were always seeking to keep up with the competition's latest gimmicks to win customers. They were not original thinkers which has led to the downfall of the Services division.

Advice to Senior ManagementEliminate stagnant leadership and hire / promote leaders that will build teams in a positive manner.

Pitney Bowes - an 'ok' place to work on balance and in an environment where good jobs are hard to find

    Director Procurement (Former Employee)
    Shelton, CT

Prossome wonderful people, but rare. lot's of potential, but it can feel like a slowly sinking ship as mail volumes and reltated service decline - maybe the new CEO can turn things around

Conslots of mediocrity and and politics and senior management not help accountable (that may be changing)

    Inside Sales

    CAM (Current Employee)
    Spokane, WA

ProsGreat Benefits, some corporate structure tries to make it worthwhile to work, awesome 401k, tuition reimbursement, great bonus structure if you can get to it.

ConsLive in constant fear of not hitting bonus and not being able to pay bills. First month on the floor tracking for bonus, but if you don't hit a huge sales goal you make zilch for bonus. Managers have no concept of how to coach employees and only focus on doing useless reports to try to forecast where they might be in the next five minutes. Good luck getting help with a question as the supervisors in sales often have no clue.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop doing reports every 2 hours on where are numbers will be and start trying to improve sales by coaching your employees. There are exercises called role plays and voice recording technology that analysts could monitor help sales people tweak there word tracks and pitches to increase sales. Also, don't make an permanent decision on an employee 2 weeks out of training, give them a full month to figure out what they are doing. Especially when you don't have them shadow a successful employee and learn hands on. Module training is poor, need hands on real scenario training on machines and automation equipment. Make the base pay more or make the bonus pay out at a lower number, so employees don't have to stress about a catastrophic month or give up half way through, which I see regularly.
