I have been working at Planned Parenthood full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Team members who share similar beliefs and values, great hours

    Cons

For me, dealing with the stigma has been the biggest issue. Trying to figure out who I should tell and keeping myself safe is a balance I'm still working on. Also, regular protestors are annoying.

I have been working at Planned Parenthood full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Staff work for Planned Parenthood because they are caring, insightful folks that can see outside their own little circle to what is really important for the welfare of reproductive education and health care. These are the people you want as your co-workers...your teammates.

    Cons

There are many people who do not choose to get to know Planned Parenthood and all that we do...but instead judge Planned Parenthood for offering abortion services. This is unfortunate, because politics get in the way of true quality healthcare that is affordable and accessible.

I have been working at Planned Parenthood

    Pros

Everyone is passionate about what they do. They are all there to make a difference for the women, men and children in the community. The work opportunities are good. Staff can take on new projects and pursue new ways to do things, other than what is written on the job description.

    Cons

The protestors can be nerve racking. You need to always be on the alert, whether you're talking on the phone, or chatting with someone right outside the building, or anything else.
