Former Employee – worked at Plantronics full-time
Pros – Known for good employee culture and competitive salary and benefits package
Cons – Long hours -- Engineering, & customer service positions are being sent to their facility in Tijuana, Mexico in order to cut costs which may be an indicator that company is losing market share and/or may be in financial trouble
Advice to Senior Management – Cutting costs by moving jobs to Mexico is not the way to inspire company morale -- Recent Upper Management decisions have been questionable
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Plantronics full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Technology leadership, great benefits, open to movement within the organization, well resourced business units, friendly and helpful team environment, Santa Cruz is a great location.
Cons – As of a few years ago, there was a bit of micro-management from the C-level, which held back new ideas and approaches to new market areas.
Advice to Senior Management – The top down leadership style can stifle innovation - especially when addressing new product areas or markets.

Former Employee – worked at Plantronics full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Challenging work, excellent/talented multi-desciplined engineering co-workers.
Cons – The downturn economy has devasted the product engineering resources whilst increasing the sales force. An engineer is expected to support all duties in the product lifecycle, including production ECOs and Sustaining. Thus NPD projects are generally delayed due to resource interruptions.
Advice to Senior Management – Best of luck.

Former Employee – worked at Plantronics full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – This is a really great company to work for especially if you want to live/work in the Santa Cruz area. Work/life balance is pretty good. Still offers all the career challenges of a Silicon Valley company but still maintains the laid-back culture of Santa Cruz.
Cons – Compensation could have been more competitive especially since they're competiting for talent from San Jose.

Tooooo much Finance controlled organization for no reason
Advice to Senior Management – Finance should stop controlling other department
