I have been working at Polo Ralph Lauren full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The name on your resume for future job opportunities. That's it. Nothing else. Wish I could offer more positive feedback. Sorry.

    Cons

Everything else. Been horrible since day one.
The turnover rate is so high because no one with any amount of intelligence sticks around for very long. And so you are left with......the scraps.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire COMPETENT employees. Do not hire people in a rush just for the sake of hiring someone,
Impossible to get rid of employees who quite frankly should never have been hired in the first place. Very hard to work with people who simple do not GET it.
Also- there is a VERY high focus placed on senior management and above. No attention or appreciation given to those who are lower on the totem pole. HR is there to protect the company, not the employee.

    Pros

50% off Ralph Lauren product; younger people; NYC

    Cons

very tense, out to get you work environment, no work life balance, face time is very important and there is no sense of community

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

just because you're a fashion industry, doesn't mean you have to act like you are better than everyone else. there is nothing fun about this place.

I have been working at Polo Ralph Lauren full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Discount and some of the people are kind, none in upper management.

    Cons

They work you down to the ground, they never have anything good to say to you, you can't talk, you have to be moving at ALL times, they treat the staff very poor, they don't really give you hours and they don't give people LAWFUL breaks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

treat people with respect, and stop breaking the law with the 15 minute breaks and beating staff down with WORDS. I see why they hire kids, because they don't know any better.

I worked at Polo Ralph Lauren full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good employee discounts, no formal dress code.

    Cons

The Internal Audit Department within Ralph Lauren is considered as a "revolving door" for a reason. The turnover of staff and managers is really high. The management do not care about the employees within the department and rather focus on politics to get the work done. All seniors and managers do the same exact work but they are just titled, and paid differently. No money is spent on training. The upper management only cares about their bonuses and lie to their employees if and when a valid concern has been raised. There is very little personal growth to speak about. I will never recommend the Internal Audit Department at RL for employment to anyone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to employees, provide appropriate training and provide them the growth they truly deserve.

I worked at Polo Ralph Lauren full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    50% discount on clothing, benefits

    Cons

Expectations from managers were unrealistic, sometimes unwilling to work with you and provide an appropriate amount of time to complete a project. This is partially because they were a bad manager to begin with and also didn't understand how to do the work themselves. So they would agree to take on a project at the expense of the people doing the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire competent people, not someone trying to manage up

I worked at Polo Ralph Lauren part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Discount on clothing items. Some of the other coworkers were nice. Other than that, I've nothing more to say on the subject.

    Cons

Call-ins, terrible hours, no opportunity to advance within, mean managers, lazy managers, managers getting arrested at work all of the time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Perhaps you should try a commission-based system. No call-ins; provide opportunities for eager young employees to advance. Don't outsource. Somehow the background check gets muckied, so keep the managers more accountable. Your stores are probably gang headquarters.
