    Pros

Working for an internationally recognized brand, opportunities in sales and cash handling as well as basic assistant management, working with a large retail team, very community based.

    Cons

Terrible hours, outlet mall setting gives way to less desirable consumers, MILLIONS of foreign tourists a year that do not speak ANY english, this is bottom of the totem poll at RL and upward movement takes a considerable amount of time.`

    Pros

The people love the brand they're working for which makes for a better work environment. Your supervisors are there for support and want to see you do well. There is room for growth across divisions. They know how to treat their interns well and really want to see you evolve, taking the brand as your own.

    Cons

Depending on the team, you may get jumped right into project work or day to day assignments. The company uses several software that are not all aligned and navigating some of them can be difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overall pretty good program. So much of the program is dedicated to learning about the company and especially your team. Perhaps it would be great to given the chance to meet and network in the beginning of the program as well.

Former Employee - Sales Associate/Cashier in Freeport, ME

    Pros

Coworkers were happy to come to work, often early as well as offering to stay late. The culture was warm, friendly, positive and constructive. Feedback was constant from peers and management. Structure allowed for in-depth learning and developing of merchandising skills quickly. Register Trained in 2 weeks. Coming into retail with no experience I felt fairly paid (by the hour). Company discount is huge. Asked to do in-house modeling, paid well. Breaks are incredibly flexible. Management was down to earth, supportive and assertive.

    Cons

Training was simple. If you wanted to learn about each and every detail of the products it was up to you to really show you cared. It's a big ask of a company like Ralph Lauren because their brand is so diverse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would encourage management to continue to do what they are doing, remaining consistent is difficult.
