    Pros

Not a whole lot. The insurance is ok.

    Cons

The reviews were always bad. The managers were told to redo the reviews if the score was too high so they wouldn't have to give out 30 cent raises.

I have been working at Powell Industries full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are a lot of opportunity in this company to increase your knowledge because there are so many products to be experience.

    Cons

The bad thing in this company is the salary are low. So many past employees worked here to be use as a stepping stone to achieve higher. Another reason it is bad in this company is the unfair paying between employee. e.g. a 2 years or older employees get pay lower than a new people without skills or any knowledge of electrical plus with a language barriers. According to lead-man heard from Supervisors stated these employee get higher pay than current employee due to their relatives who's worked here as an offices position so they get better pay than a current skilled employees. This also apply to overtime same reason relationship. People already get pay low only have overtime will allow them to support their family. This is what cause man skilled employee to leave this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to re-manage the staffs (supervisor, lead-man, crew-leader) on the floor. Second, apply the change between skilled employee and unskilled new employee.

    I worked at Powell Industries

    Pros

Competitive benefits package. Depending on the location and position, there are opportunities to obtain invaluable experience in oil and energy industries.

    Cons

Human Resources is into everything, they practically run the place. Pay and pay raises are sub par with industry standards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not allow human resources to dictate how departments are ran. Get rid of the Oracle database, or find something new that actually works.

I have been working at Powell Industries

    Pros

Good entry level job for someone with a career change or looking to change industries.

    Cons

Old school, still run like a mom and pop company from the 80s. Backward looking rather than proactive and.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the advice of your engineers, Look at your old management and old school supervisors....they are running your business into the ground. Turn the lights off at night. Hire from the outside.
