I have been working at Primerica part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I was recruited as a Primerica Insurance Representative which is an unsalaried position. Compensation is based on the number of insurance policies and products that you sell. You are in business for yourself, but you are not alone. Training is available on line and through media products for sale, and special workshops. Generally, company training for getting an insurance license is good and I was able to my own license. Promotions are based on your ability to make sales and obtain new recruits. High achievers are promoted quickly through the ranks.

    Cons

You must get tested and licensed by the state certificated insurance board. This can be at your own expense and time.
You must continuously be re-licensed with refresher training to maintain your license certification.
The real issue to getting enough good clients and new recruits to establish your own business.
You are continuously pressured to find new recruits and make sales.
If a client cancels their insurance policy, the company takes back your commission (this is called a kick back).
Some company representatives like to think of their company as a "Walmart of insurance policies, but consumers can shop and find cheaper polices in the marketplace.
The company tries to get you to attend numerous "pep rallies" to keep your faith in staying with the company. Even these pep rallies are at your own expense and time.
The company showcases millionaires that made it using their system and want you to believe that you can too. In reality, these examples are really the exception rather than the rule. Many do not make much money in the program and there is an large turnover quitting rate. The odds of success are low. The company recruits an average of 200,000 people per year and more than 80 percent drop out. If you are not business inclined and don't know how to continuously recruit new people and sell products then this job may not be for you.

I worked at Primerica part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The facilities are nice and they always have something going on to build up the teamwork as well as really friendly people. They are always willing to help you and encourage you when things are not going your way.

    Cons

There is too much hype but not enough gain. Unless you are an exceptional sales person and you know alot of people it is hard to get any money out of it. You can go months without receiving any money though you put more than a hundred dollars into it for the hope of getting a big paycheck.

I worked at Primerica part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Families need life insurance and level term is the way to go. The company provides good products but making a living is nearly impossible.

    Cons

They will hire anyone, the focus is recruit recruit recruit. It's really a churn and burn, hire someone, burn through their warm market to write business, then move on. The failure rate is extremely high but they won't tell you that. If it's not working for you or you're not all in they will make you feel like a loser. The people that succeed are masters at mind games and dealers of false hope. I've seen people get excited and quit their jobs, only to be screwed a few months later. If you don't make it you will be singled out as lazy or wanting something for nothing, very cultish with heavy koolaid flowing. I would NOT recommend trying Primerica unless you DON'T need to earn money. I watched the 'top producers' carefully, they really worked hard and did not make that much. There are some big earners but they're few and far.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much emphasis on recruiting. How does an office 'hire' 200 people in a year and properly train them?

I have been working at Primerica full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I wish I knew any Pros. I never received anything! Not even applications to write business!
Home office was helpful in finding his boss and helping me to resign from the company.

    Cons

The guy who hired me, took my money and never called me again.
$99.00 fee to join company and a monthly payment of $25.00 to use company website.
There may have been more, but I wasn't ever contacted for training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Before unleashing a obviously new agent to open an office. Do some follow-up with his new hires to see how it's going.

I worked at Primerica part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Anyone who possess the skills to be somewhat successful in this business will make more money on their own.

    Cons

Now map out what you need to do to sustain that year after year. Don't buy into the leaving your family a legacy or being your own boss and setting your own schedules or your helping people crap. Its all a ploy to get your immediate market locked in and when that is dried up you have to cold call or network while others make money of of your sweat.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    quit lying...

    I worked at Primerica

    Pros

You learn about the ways insurance companies work.

    Cons

I hated working for this company. One way i can describe it is by saying they do a lot of talking till things get down to the grain and money starts coming in... yes i know for every job you start from the bottom but the way this company made it seem to me was all they care about was getting their money and people out of you. As long as money is coming in they were so persistant on me setting up meetings with family or friends wouldn't let me breath i didn't understand why if i couldn't set up appointments cuz my friends either already had life insurance or simply didn't wanna sign up, why wouldn't they take me along to they're appointments! Plus i used my parents as an example during my training period and my dad just wanted to see if he qualified point is within the following 2months or less. Primerica autiautomatically chargcharged a fee for life Insurance to his account without notice when my dad never signed them a check or paper agreeing to life insurance with them! Their fraud, watch out for those you use for training and the accounts you give to them. Like i said all they care about is money in their pockets.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix the fraud problem i don't trust Primerica and wouldn't refer it to friends or family.
